I would give Ernie a call and ask him.

"It seems closet to the #13 Green.."

Oh and by the way, how long has that Green #13 been in the Closet!!:D

Take Care

alton i sat here an looked for kevins thread. found good pics. then i matched up all dustins greens and it look like reg green or true green are the closest two. i matched up samples i have to in my hand and put then next to the computer screen.

i posted some pics in the new veneer maker thread if you need an idea

I have to second this advice!! I would contact him, and see if you can email him some pics of your work. Once he sees the caliber of your caps, he may well be more than happy to help you out with the proper green veneer.

Never hurts to ask...all he can say is 'No'.

I wouldn't bother trying to match colors on a monitor. between the color space embedded in the image, the color space of the app, and the calibration(or lack thereof) of the monitor, it is likely to be off in person even if it matches perfectly on the screen. I'm not saying you can't get close, but I don't think close is what you are striving for.

From experience, greens are very tricky. I would ask the maker especially since you have that benefit. Computer screens will alter colors. After done, clearcoated etc... 82 looks more emerald to me. Playing the guessing game though, I will vote vert 13 from the site Steve provided

BTW, below is 82 (in a Steve Klein cue) as compared to your Gina. The 82 looks darker to me...

I am sure the caps will be fabulous...............I just picked a Ginacue similar to this one. So once you get the colors matched, you can do something for me.

PS: I am sure Kevin will love 'em. :) :)

Alton...you are doing and offering is a very unique item. There are those who can craft a pretty nice joint protector, but not really anyone but you who can craft a truly, truly custom cue cap. What you are crafting is pure artistry, and is on a level that is simply mind-blowing.

I would find it very difficult to believe that once Ernie sees some examples of what you have done on his other customers cues, as well as on another maker or two...that he would not be more than happy to help you out, or at the very least, hook you up with the color name and source. Besides, I have NEVER heard anyone say an unkind thing about the man...so he must be nice!...LoL!

Look at it this way...nothing ventured, nothing gained. :)

heres the thing. yes ask ernie by all means. however, unless your getting veneers from the same exact batch. odds are there will be color differences. dustin has like 9 different greens. im sure one of them matched perfect. i picked the best two but i had like 4 that are close.

i dont want to say close is good enough but without the cue on hand what can you do? get close.

you do a great job alton.

i second the point that you can not match colours at all on the monitor. My job involves sending designs to be produced abroad and we always courier swatches of actual colours/material we want matched.
another option is to use a colour standard such as Pantones.

some greens will end up looking like blues on another screen. do not trust the machines! :))

Dustin's Veneers

I just ordered veneers from Dustin..
Dustin gave me good service. I am very pleased.
I want to tell everyone about those who give good customer service to us here at AZ..

Thank You Dustin..

I will send Kev some samples to compare.

Thanks for your kind words Jimmy and Lisa..
Dave's right. Thanks Dave.. Always posting to help others.:)
Olive, Thanks.. I did have that happen. I made a cap set in Teal, but, the cue was blue.
The monitor showed Teal..
I know some of you guys getting tired of this post, but,
I like post something...
Thanks for your post..
Alton
