Ever regretted selling a cue?

I've regretted every cue I've ever sold. So unique pieces of art. Like people, all different, but love em all the same. Am I the only one who gets emotionally attached to my cues. ???

You ever sold a cue and REGRETTED IT?

Def

Especially if caused by misfortune,
Rather than preference

Most of the cues I've sold, especially locally, were all great playing cues.
Someone wanted the cue, I wanted the dough, so we made a deal.
Several years ago I traded a Scruggs for a Buss, regretted it, and put the Buss away in deep storage.
Recently I've been playing with the Buss a little, and I'm glad I made the trade.

A deal is a deal, I don't look back

No... but I regret not buying a fancy Joss West for $75.00 when I had the chance.

I got a Predator 2k6, an old Mali, some custom jump cue and a fresh guiseppe case for $100 one time back in 07. Guy said pool is for the birds, he quits...i said Ca Caww...here is your 100 lol. Sold the Mali that night for $175, can't remember what happened to the case and jump cue, and finally got in a jam n sold the 2k6 for $850. Those deals dont come around that often lol

These are the ones I've had to let go of in the last 4 years due to
financial hardship that I regret selling

Mike Lambros ebony w/snakewood points
TAD-1
Murray Tucker Titlist conversion
Judd Fuller JT-4
Paul Mottey to my specs

:(

How about a thread on cues one has regretted buying ?

That would piss off some of the AZB "darlings" on here
hyping their cues.

Only 1

I regret selling only 1 cue outta many, a Scruggs ,it's not that's its something special it just played good for me

Yes, a like-new Scruggs Willie Hoppe with a leather wrap with 2 shafts - sold for $900 on ebay and it's now worth twice as much.

It's just the money - I don't attach too much sentimental value to cues. I save that for my wives, dogs, friends and children.
Nice post and I kind of feel the same way but just a little different.
I'll feel sort of excited waiting for that special cue to arrive and when it
does,I usually have expectations that the cue will hit great but more times
than not it usually does not.
I suddenly feel disappointed and disheartened, kind of the same way
I feel about my wife and my kids:wink:

Many times. Especially my first custom, a pj coco Niti, and also my second BB, an RS3 with ferruleless shafts. On the other hand, though, I have a couple that I almost sold but didn't, and I'm still glad for that, and I really am enjoying my new Judd/Davis ebony Titlist Hoppe...amazing cue.

I designed a cue with Tim Scruggs back in the 80s (mostly Tim, but he incorporated some of my ideas into final product) and then I sold it 10 years later. I regret it every time I see it since I sold it to my best friend. At least I know it is in a good home.

sold cues

in 1973 i had 2 ginas built both beautiful paid 260 and 240 for them with the design on them probably would sell for around 6000 today my name is on the butt of one jerry urich has anyone seen this cue

I'm in the middle of selling my Burton Spain right now..I"ve owned it for 34 years. Don't know if I will have sellers remorse or not for at least a few more weeks ???

You could regret it, but then again I sold 4 of my 5 Tim Scruggs cues a few weeks ago and I am still waiting to see if the regret sets in.
So far so good, but I'm holding the money in escrow just in case.

Don't do it

Once you ship that cue, the history sets in. You will regret selling it. 34 yrs is a lot of history. My advice is keep it if u can.

I'm already regretting that you're selling it.

Freddie <~~~ full of regrets

cue

In the last year or two I've probably sold at least 50 cues but there are only a few that I really regret selling. My fancy Burton Spain, a fancy Joss West, a Frank Paradise with Spain blank, a Scruggs and a very early custom made Schon
