Bingo. Never will use my card online. And paypal? Forget it. Paypal does NOT offer the protection banks do.
Problem is monetizing it so the guy doing all the work can make ends meet. Once its out there, all bets are off. Plus, honor system does not work!I have paid for 2 live streams in the past. The deciding factors in those situations was that I would have the time to actually watch the matches. That usually isn't the case. Having the ability to download the content would certainly change that. While I would like to be able to support the streaming more it just seems a bit pricey to pay for a stream I won't be able to watch
One thing that might also help to get people more interested in the sport is if the matches were made available a reasonable amount of time after the event. People new or returning to billiards would then also be able to see them. I know in my case I probably watched just about every stream Inside Pool had on youtube when I got back into pool. Having those matches was a large factor in my getting back into the game instead of it just being a once in a while thing. Having the content out there available to casual or returning players can do a lot for generating more interest.
This is a good point. Look into something called virtual credit card. Your credit card company may offer it.
Virtual Credit Card is a security function and benefit offered by lots of CC companies. You log onto your banks website, access your account, find the security link, and then whatever your card company calls their offering. Citi Card calls theirs, Shop Safe.
Click on Shop Safe for example, plug in that you want a credit card number good for only 20 bucks. Further, you want the number to totally expire in 1 month.
You get a unique new CC number instantly for 20 bucks. Its like a sub folder number off your main CC number. Unique, worth no more than what you requested, and can only be used once.
In other words, say you want to shop for something on line you know will cost 80 bucks, you allow for shipping and ask for a 100 dollar CC number. Then, you find it only cost 88 bucks including shipping. Once you use the card number, the extra 12 bucks that remains on the card is now invalid and could not be used by anyone, including you.
The actual 12 bucks is still available through your main account number, just not that one time virtual number.
with Shop Safe that $12 will remain available til it expires (2 months) Or you go back in and 'delete this number' and it is gone.
Some people who use their card constantly on line will get say a $400 number and use it for several purchases over the next 2 months from several vendors-Just a bit more convenient than doing one transaction per number. In other words you can totally control how the number works for you.
It amazes me how when the stream is not PPV that everyone at work and home can get it. If it's PPV most are looking for updates because they can't get it at work or some other reason. Why not just say it's not in the budget? Johnnyt
I am in complete agreement that it would be nice if we could timeshift PPV content that we buy. However, this is not something that would negate my purchase decision as I love to watch good pool and snooker.

Also, it seems some streamers are not able (willing?) to work closely with the TD to ensure the best matches are shown to the detriment of the impression left with the customer as to the value of their production. It gets irritating to have Moishe Pippik playing Harvey Keck on the streaming table while Earl and Shane are playing two tables over.
