Everyone Can Get Stream When Free

When someone wins a world championship in billiards. Not the match but results. Do they mention it on ESPN or any other network. Like when Appleton won.

Bingo. Never will use my card online. And paypal? Forget it. Paypal does NOT offer the protection banks do.

This is a good point. Look into something called virtual credit card. Your credit card company may offer it.

Virtual Credit Card is a security function and benefit offered by lots of CC companies. You log onto your banks website, access your account, find the security link, and then whatever your card company calls their offering. Citi Card calls theirs, Shop Safe.

Click on Shop Safe for example, plug in that you want a credit card number good for only 20 bucks. Further, you want the number to totally expire in 1 month.

You get a unique new CC number instantly for 20 bucks. Its like a sub folder number off your main CC number. Unique, worth no more than what you requested, and can only be used once.

In other words, say you want to shop for something on line you know will cost 80 bucks, you allow for shipping and ask for a 100 dollar CC number. Then, you find it only cost 88 bucks including shipping. Once you use the card number, the extra 12 bucks that remains on the card is now invalid and could not be used by anyone, including you.

The actual 12 bucks is still available through your main account number, just not that one time virtual number.

watching live stream

I think live streaming is the way of the future for pool.
If you fear giving credit card info online you could
try using a "gift card" type of credit card or one
from Wal-Mart that you put your own dollar amount on.
I have one that i keep roughly $100-$200 just for these
kind of things. I live in FL n am fortunate to have XPC
(Xtreme pool challenge) n they stream free , they also do
events in there amazing facility so check them out.
Support those that put their time n efforts so we can watch
pool from anywhere n everywhere. Trust me it's ALOT OF WORK,
I've witnessed the hours of set up n teardown n very long days
behind the microphone n monitors so support the live streaming
and the tournaments n rooms that give us the option to watch.
Don't forget ya don't know what ya got til it's Gone.

I am in complete agreement that it would be nice if we could timeshift PPV content that we buy. However, this is not something that would negate my purchase decision as I love to watch good pool and snooker.

I am not likely to keep checking for updates on any stream that I did not purchase. The fact that I did not purchase it meant that I had little or no interest in the outcome; or in some instances have felt burned in the past by the streaming entity and ignore anything they do.

I don’t mind paying for a stream that I want. It is cheaper than when I go in person although I still like to go to Turning Stone, the Derby, CSI events etc. in person when time permits. When I buy the stream I feel like I have saved several thousand dollars by watching instead of going there.

I have even paid the PPV cost to the official streamer for the Mosconi Cup even though I could get a free link with better quality streaming.

I agree with those that indicate that many of the regional matches are just not worth it from a talent/quality of the stream point of view.

Too many “professional” streamers produce decidedly amateur streams. I will watch anything by Accu Stats, Barry Hearn events or the CSI streams without reservation.

Although I find that they are not cost competitive with the events that I have listed above I would not bother to watch Dragon promotions, Big Truck or TV Mike regardless of what is being streamed even if it was cost competitive. I don’t like it when people confuse marketing with bait and switch techniques.

Also, it seems some streamers are not able (willing?) to work closely with the TD to ensure the best matches are shown to the detriment of the impression left with the customer as to the value of their production. It gets irritating to have Moishe Pippik playing Harvey Keck on the streaming table while Earl and Shane are playing two tables over.

I have paid for 2 live streams in the past. The deciding factors in those situations was that I would have the time to actually watch the matches. That usually isn't the case. Having the ability to download the content would certainly change that. While I would like to be able to support the streaming more it just seems a bit pricey to pay for a stream I won't be able to watch

One thing that might also help to get people more interested in the sport is if the matches were made available a reasonable amount of time after the event. People new or returning to billiards would then also be able to see them. I know in my case I probably watched just about every stream Inside Pool had on youtube when I got back into pool. Having those matches was a large factor in my getting back into the game instead of it just being a once in a while thing. Having the content out there available to casual or returning players can do a lot for generating more interest.

Problem is monetizing it so the guy doing all the work can make ends meet. Once its out there, all bets are off. Plus, honor system does not work!

Too few donations when free. Sponsors crying over the little they pay now!

When technology or a vendor comes along to pay per view safely it will change. Vizio seems to be headed that way. TAR uses it.

Time and money.
It's one thing to watch bits and pieces of a free stream where you can come and go as you please.
But why pay for something that is most likely going to have the best matches take place over the weekend, when you have obligations and other things more important to do then watch pool?

If I hear that a match is awesome enough that I want to see it, I'll buy the DVD.

That's not to say PPVs are terrible. It's just that stuff is geared towards a certain market that I am no longer a part of.

When I was younger and wanting to absorb as much pool as possible? Yes, I probably would have been a PPV whore.
Now that I am older and really don't care either way? No.

with Shop Safe that $12 will remain available til it expires (2 months) Or you go back in and 'delete this number' and it is gone.

Some people who use their card constantly on line will get say a $400 number and use it for several purchases over the next 2 months from several vendors-Just a bit more convenient than doing one transaction per number. In other words you can totally control how the number works for you.

Each cc must be a bit different , bank of america master card wont let you access the extra from anumber that was used once... unless they changed that is. I'm going to check again.

I'm in Japan, so I really am at work when a lot of tournaments are going on, especially the American ones. Actually, I'm at work right now.

It amazes me how when the stream is not PPV that everyone at work and home can get it. If it's PPV most are looking for updates because they can't get it at work or some other reason. Why not just say it's not in the budget? Johnnyt

I'll be honest, with the price f these PPV's it's just getting to be kind of outta hand.

IMO,most people that play pool are your ordinary working class stiffs. At 20-50

bucks per event, multiplied by the amount of events this time of year. Costs too much

for my little budget. I'm happy for anyonethat's able to watch em all and do appeciate

the updates. I'll watch the ones that I can pay for and get updates on the ones that

I can't. End story
