i too was hoping for the best but i figured i would wait and see. and for now anyway it looks pretty fishy since the website he had is "under constrution" till jan1/06..... who knows? i dont think i'll hold my breath though..

I don't know that I'd read anything into the site construction.I think Mike Janis talked to them to get clarification on the payouts and the guy said they'd have to update the site regarding that and other questions. With the holidays??? Scott and Mike and a few others will be there I'm sure and let people know what the story is. If there's no payout then not much harm, Mike and the guys who entered and got free entry would be out little. The cost of incorporating, hiring lawyers, and setting up a website is probably more than they'll take in from initial entries.

I believe it will be on the up & up.

Hey Everyone,

I would like everyone in this thread to review the EBS website. I was just there. Due to my display settings I was unable to view all; but, when I printed it was all there.
Per print out, I saw E-mail address, phone number, &
A "Special Thanks to Kevin Trudeau, Mike Janis, tcmc, Vivian for all of your help."

As for me "this event will be the best I've heard of.", (sorry Kevin). But, I had concerns about field size, payout positions, etc.

Also, I, have a lot of respect for Mike Janis's ability in setting up & running tournaments.

Are you pool players out there for real? Now the website is under construction. Anyone who threatens to sue people in a court of law is a fake. You dont threaten people you just do it. As far as sponsors are concerns; if they dumped now then what does that mean when the tournament is in session and they dont like the turnout and the money is suppose to be guaranteed.

Lets face it folks, it sounds like and looks like a bunch of bullshit in my eyes as of this afternoon. I dont see any pro's names around this venue and it is starting to smell in here. If this person is so legit and professional there should have been multiple press releases and there should be information on the sponsors website, has anyone called BCBS to ask about the coverage, I have and they do not know who Evolution Billiards is and have no clue who Michael Crawford - this from the senior manager of marketing and promotions for BCBS.

And he statement on the website is contradicting, first your refunding then your not???? Anyone who want my SS# and a check for $100 without getting a signed something in return can kiss my ass

Hmmmm......maybe I hit the 9 ball maybe I didnt but lets sit here and ponder the situation.

one other thing, Fox and Hound establishments have never and I quote from a high ranking employee "never will" hold tournaments. F & H's are suppose to be so wealthy why do they need sponsors for tournaments.....

Over the past 5 years I have tried to establish all kinds of venues at F&H's across the nation and have been shut out. Maybe its me, I think otherwise.

To be fair, I got confirmation from the Fox & Hound's event manager...as stated earlier in this thread.

I don't think it looks good, that after questioning the authenticity of the sponsors that the site was changed.

My concern is for the players who have paid or may pay. I think it's fair to ask questions. Hopefully more concrete information will come to light.

Steady's girlfriend,

Maybe it is you. If you check Colins earlier posts you'll see he contacted "Kelly White" events director for the Fox and Hound venue in question. Who was this person you contacted? Were you polite? I only ask because you seem so-so nice.

Who's sueing who?? Just curious, must have missed that in all of this.

It STILL says they are refunding the money (tournament entries) to those who paid to enter the first event and giving free entry to the remaining 110 spots not accepting entries until after 1/6/2006....maybe you need aspirin.

You appear to NOT be interested in joining and I'm sure they would rather not "kiss your ass". I suppose you've decided Steady won't be joining either?

Perhaps you SHOULD leave this to those interested, and willing to take a chance.

Terry

thanks for the advice i took some aspirin. If you read the sight yesterday there was a statement to sue 4 people-who they are i am not sure. I was very interested in paying the way for 3 individual players, very well known and very skilled players. Maybe it was me maybe it wasnt I was very professional and have always been able to fill a 2 - 5 tour schedule with ease as establishments contact me to hold venues.

SteddyNeddy wont be on list because "we" won't let someone who doesnt have all their i's dotted and t's crossed take my $100 bucks. The numbers dont add up and the wishy washyness of the website and so called sponsors has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Good luck to EBT if it is for real and good luck to the players. I hope that if this thing is a hit that you make all the money you can and play your ass off.

On another note, there are too many people posing to be honest business owners with good intentions out there. This forum is a place to provide information to the people involved in this sport. I have witness way to much over the last year that included backstabbing and stealing, theft and lies, and unethical practices - enough to make me vomit. When we try to promote the sport in a positive manner someone will always try to rain on a parade, I think this thread's intention at the inception was to find out good honest information and not bashing comments. Well I said my peace with all good honest intentions. It is also my professional highly educated assumption that anyone who throws out wishful thinking with the hopes of attracting money angels has a lot of guts, if it works then great if it dont well at least you tried but dont be stealing the money of cheap, poor pool players in the interim.

There are many players still awaiting their prize funds from another tour that has done the same damn thing and we are sick of it.

Hey Linda,
If you are refering to a previous post of mine.
I did have a spacing problem, not a spelling problem.
I just corrected my error.

Hey Lamar,

Unless you were doing the website for EB, then I was not referring to you. In the midst of all their changes, their email address said evolutinbilliards.com, not evolutionbilliards.com, so if anyone tried to write to them, I am sure it got bounced back, unless there is actually a website called evolutinbilliards.com! I don't get on people for spelling or typos, unless they are representing a company, and it is the only source of feedback to them.

Have a nice day too.

Hey Linda,
For your info, I'm not in the web design world.
In My post's I'm only trying to protect the players.

I would like to hold off on making any more comments in this thread, until we hear from E.R. after her meeting this comming monday.

Lamar,

I don't think I referenced you at all. I only mentioned that their email address was misspelled on their website. It will be very interesting hearing Eydie's report, especially if she addresses our concerns. Like who else is running this besides Michael C?

I very much want his tour to take off and succeed, but presently, there are just too many unanswered questions.

Linda

I am leaving in a few hours to meet with him. I have copied all of this thread and will bring it with me for your answers.

Eydie

Oh Lamar,

Now I see how you thought I was referring to your post, because SteadyNeddy was referencing you when he commented that the EB website had changed 3 times already. My next post was a direct answer to him and was not referring to you at all. Sorry for the confusion.

When EB took everything down and put up their temporary website, it said to contact info@evolutinbilliards.com instead of info@evolutionbilliards.com, and that is what I was referring to. Later, it was corrected on their website.

It would be amazing for someone with no track record, no internet history except for a few pool forum posts to pull off the biggest pool event in history.

I hope Michael or some sleuths can provide some more light on this issue.

Still concerned!

I personally hope this is on the up & up , I believe that we are going nowhere at present and it will probably be an "unknown" that propels the sport further than its been dogpaddling so far . It doesn't matter who they are or what their "credentials" are .

what does matter is if their intentions are honorable . Everyone *****es about us wanting and needing sponsors and this and that but does anyone know anyone who is actually out there knocking on doors everyday or calling potential sponsors or anything other than beer companies .

Kodak ,Sony ,Ford (mustang divison) or such ,even Microsoft , Bill Gates proabably has a table in his mansion somewhere ?? What I mean is there are plenty of stones still unturned that would probably be tickled as hell to have a symbiotic relationship like Winston & Nascar once had .....The advertising potential is enormous and would be invaluable to the sport.

I wish them (and us all ) Good Luck & Smooth Sailing

You are correct. Billiards in general is at bargain prices. Lots of opportunity for those willing to take the risk. KT has and I do sense a win.

I'm sure lots will say there is not enough interest or the general population is less than desirable (no more by any means). It's like the two shoe salesman that were sent to sell shoes in the jungle. Once down there, the first calls back and says "Why did you send me here, no one wears shoes?" The second salesman calls the office and says "Unlimited opportunity!".

It's how we perceive it and what efforts we put into it that make things happen.

In the beginning expect some rocky times but lose no faith. Keep the support high and offer the best constructive criticism possible, because we do make a difference.
