No matter how you try to spin this you aren't going to change anyone's mind. YOU misrepresented an item for sale, YOU are clearly responsible. YOU should have never given the money to your friend until the item was accepted by the buyer. The only RIGHT thing for you to do is take the shafts back and refund the buyer his full purchase price. What you do with them after that is on you, sell them, beat yor friend with them use them as tomato stakes..etc it doesn't really matter after you refund the buyer his funds that he was defrauded out of.

In case you were wondering the definition of fraud, here it is for you:
deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.

Here's the bottom line: IF the shafts were misrepresented, knowingly or unknowingly, unwittingly or inadvertently, and understanding that the buyer purchased them based on the info the seller gave him, and the info is not accurate, the seller has to make take full responsibiity and satisfy the buyer.

Stuff like this happens in all types of businesses numerous times every day. Any money out of the sellers pocket that he spends to make thngs right comes back 10 times over because he did the right thing.

He has the shafts sold for $125, I am giving $100 out of my own pocket, I have said that when my buddy gets the difference of the $75 that it would be sent to him!!! Wow, What's wrong with that????? Again, the bottom line is you must return all of the buyer's money! Not partial payments. When you return something at Macy's, do you get a full refund? The answer is yes!
I understand that you are offering solutions but there is only one- FULL REFUND... AZ billiards maybe an informal marketplace but everyone here performs their transactions in a professional manner.

For one I have dial-up so no fast connection here. And I was already giving $100 so an extra $75 to that out of my pocket is more then I can do at this time.
