Fake Aramiths on ebay being sold as Aramith's

I wouldn't profess to know anything about the different types of Aramith balls other than the ones I play with on occasion at the hall.
These don't look any different than ordinary house balls.

They Look like the balls that came with my table , But I never used them .

Wow, those are fake as hell. I would like to think that the seller is just ignorant and has no idea that they are some other set of balls in an Aramith box. I would hope that anyone who is going to buy a set or Aramith Super Pro balls knows what they are supposed to actually look like.

Why are they "fakes"?
Here is the link to the set auctioned in eBay:

And here is a "legit" set of Aramith super pro:

If someone please can explain the subtle difference, if any, I would appreciate it very much. I own a set of Sportscraft that I bought from Walmart, and I can't see any differences with the Aramith sold in stores (at least in appearance). Would appreciate your input, thanks!

Have a good solid look at the digit on the 5. The "font" doesn't match as well as the "8". Fake for sure.

They SCRATCH! Chineses are work hard to make a Better Ball as we speak.

Its funny tho , when I first bought my table they were going to give me a set of these and I said No I don't want them and I told them I bought the Super Aramith Pro Cup TV balls and they still sent them with the installers .

I still don't get it.
This is my set of Sportcraft balls, bought from Walmart:

I can not see any difference with Aramith, they look identical to me (I am very interested in learning the differences to the eye, if any)

And this is the infamous set that comes with many tables. They sell this set in Ebay for $9.99:

As you can appreciate, the Sportcraft and the cheap chinese are very different in appearance (also in quality)
Now, it would be interesting to know what differences to look for between the SPORTCRAFT set and the ARAMITH super pro.

Thanks!

Maybe he bought authentic Aramith balls, and someone broke into his house and replaced them with the fakes.

It is shocking that someone would sell fake Aramiths on Ebay.

Your Sportcraft balls are the same balls sold on eBay called "Legion" ball sets. (see ebay listing #380131079113 being auctioned as Buy It Now for $34.99)! Look carefully at the numbers and the "fancy" curls at the end of the numbers. They look just like your Sportcraft ball set.
The Aramith Super Pro ball sets also are "fancy" with curls, but not the same design!
PS: they also don't look at all like the $9.99 cheap Chinese balls!

I still don't get it.

Look for yourself

You can tell by the weight of the balls plus you will know when the balls are a scratched after a couple days of play that they are cheap.

Then we can say that sportcraft design is almost identical (honestly I don't see a difference) to Aramith Pro. An the person who is selling that Ebay set as "Aramith" evidently has an Aramith (or sportcraft set) with 2 balls that belongs to a different set (balls 5 and 8).

Still I don't see very clear what you should look for when buying an used Aramith set, specially if you are looking just at some pictures of it. Of course the ebay auction is a no-no, since at least 2 balls are no Aramith.

Are the other balls in this set Aramith, or aren't they?

Still I want to know why...

Come on, my friend...be fair!
I'm talking about buying ARAMITH balls from a site like Ebay, trusting only in pictures. You can not know the weight, you don't know if they are going to be scratched after a couple of games...
Besides, you are posting a picture of the TV set...that one is pretty different, isn't it?

and they start to lose their finish which won't happen with SP balls.

Yes Dartman that to.

Before I bought my new table I had a old fashsion homemade table with out slate and I bought a cheap set of balls at Wal-mart and they were the sports craft balls and probably the First or second night I played with them , the finish was gone and chips started to fall off .

Now the night before I got my new table I was Cleaning up the basement and I took one of the old balls and threw it at the wall just for the hell of it and the ball split in half . Show's you how well they were made .

And another set as well .

You can tell in this picture that it's truely a Aramith Ball

What I'm saying here is you can tell a Aramith ball from others because of the shine on the ball from a cheap set
