Its a very positive post!!! Just stating the facts. Wyy do you think JAM stop posting here for over a good 6 month period. She got tired of all the BS that was going on!!
All in all you reap what you sow and there seems to be a lot of bad seeds on a lot of topics around. Plain and simple...
I can probably answer your inquiry better than most.
One, believe it or not, some of pool players ain't computer savvy. When the IPT first came on the scene, they announced that they would hand-pick the first 150 members of the tour, which at that time was quite attractive because of the prospective payouts and ability to earn a decent income playing pool professionally. The pool players who didn't know how to navigate on a computer missed the chance to become an IPT member without having to qualify. :embarrassed2:
Two, there are strong egos in pool. If one person is deemed as a "good guy" and/or popular on AzBilliards, there will inevitably be bullies, trolls, and big egos who will go out of their way to destroy that forum member by flaming them, sometimes with vulgarity, name-calling, and other mean-spirited words. The rationalization for these bullies is that, well, they're only being honest and expressing their true feelings. Others say the Internet is a place where they can be entertained and "play with their toys." I don't have to illustrate this phenomena because anybody who has been a member of AzBilliards for any period of time recognizes this forum behavior. :frown:
Three, though it may be hard to believe, most pro players put as much time into actually playing pool as the regular members of this forum do hanging out on AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Their pool game means more to them than what's written on this forum.
Forum culture is a difficult environment. At one time, I was considered a good guy on AzBilliards. I enjoyed interacting with the forum. It used to bring me a lot of joy. When the forum ceases to be enjoyable, that is when it is time to quit posting. And I've done it numerous times.
As long as multiple-identitied members, e.g. banned members, bully clicks, and trolls continue to contribute to AzBilliards, it can never be a welcoming environment for pro players as well as other well-meaning pool peeps. Some veteran AzBilliards members do not post here as often as they used to, and there's a reason for that. The climate of this forum has changed since its inception.
My advice is to enjoy AzBilliards forum for what it has to offer. The Main Page is a great source of information. This forum is a cool place to network and keep up to date on the latest pool happenings, to include all the pool smut. :smile2:
If you suffer withdrawal symptoms when this forum website goes down, it may be time to reevaluate the profound effect AzBilliards has in your life. Believe me when I say there is a life outside of AzBilliards.
That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.
