My first thread. I know Fat Wayne has hundreds if not thousands of friends here in the pool community. The purpose of this tread is to hear some warm wishes and some cool funny stories about Wayne - and there are many. I would like to show this to him to cheer him up a bit. Let me say also I am asking for NOTHING other than some kind words. For those that may not know Wayne has had it pretty ruff last couples of years. He's been pretty sick with the cancer. Due to his health he hasn't been able to work and as involved as he has been with pool for the last 40+ years he very rarely even picks up a cue anymore let alone even going out anywhere just to shoot the sXXt. On top of that always fighting with the VA to receive the treatment he needs - just sucks. Anyway he's sounded really down last several times we spoke and I thought this may be a good way to cheer him up a little. Thanks in advance everyone.

Ask him about the time he spotted me the 6, 7, 8, 9, and all the breaks and barbecued me at Bill and Billie's in Glen Burnie. :embarrassed2:

One thing for sure, he's got gamble and is one of the best handicappers in Maryland. He knows his pool horses and which one's got the best of it. That's for sure.. ;)

Give Wayne my best regards. We've shared quite a few laughs on the rail. :D

I don't know Fat Wayne, but warm wishes are sent. Surviving is the way to win, hang in there Wayne.

Thanks guys Keepem coming! Jam - your spot on for sure. I truthfully dont know if there was a better handicapper/steer man on the east coast. He knew EVERY player AND every bar - pool hall - and good place to eat :) no exaggeration there whatsoever. Thanks for the pic too Jam. For those that may not know Wayne is on the left. The other guy in the pic is that banger Richiebalto is always talking about - " Cigar " When/where is that pic from? If you haven't seen him in awhile Fat Wayne is actually pretty skinny now but he will ALWAYS be Fat Wayne:) Any good OC stories?

Oh Jam dont feel bad bout your loss to Wayne, when I was younger I learned 9 ball from Cigar. We started out matching up with him giving me the 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and roasting me. Was able to accurately able to gauge my progression as he would slowly take one ball at a time away from my spot.

If his "earned income" is less than 133% of the national poverty level he qualifies for Medicaid under the new ACA.
This is not financial assistance where they take your house, it is just medical assistance based on how much money you earn.
If he doesn't have any or little "earned income" then all of his treatment will be free, and there's no reason he wouldn't get the proper care.
Some doctor's specialize in Medicaid patients, their office handles everything, and they will give him all the referrals he needs to get treatment.
If he wants to talk about it let me know.

Peace
Ted

I remember this Dynamic Duo on Pulaski Highway. They let me bet on them in the action pit, and I made a few bucks! We had a lot of fun talking pool. :)

I'd go as far as to venture between matching up himself, steers, and cue sales he's prob made people millions over the course of time.

Fat Wayne was - is the 2nd funniest pool player i ever seen (Geese) was the funniest!

Wayne has been around forever, watching him play pool was much better then going to the movies or circus, boy could he put a show on.

Cigar Vanover, Brinkman, wayne and Big BIll eye went on a road trip to flordia about 20 or more years ago, i dont remember the exact story, but it was something like Wayne had bet a good amount of money on a set playing someone down there in flordia and Wayne had lost the set 11-10, Brinkman told me when Wayne dogged that hill hill game and lost the set, Wayne ran out the door with his cue still together, holding it like a spear, he ran all the way across the beach and chucked his playing cue out in the ocean!

And Wayne didnt play with cheap cues back in the day!

Waynes been my friend for over 30 years and will be until the end.

Wayne is an excellent pool hall man, knows everything there is to know about pool and gambling!

I wish FAT WAYNE the very best forever! Richie Adams!

Thanks Rich, love ya bro- I know u have as good as anyone. Was the truckers hat tipped up and F- job mutterred?

Sorry guys - keep them coming. Will be a great thing trust me - Thank you everyone. This is my first tread for a reason.

Wayne

Wayne is a great guy,a lot of heart when it comes to betting never forgets the old days, If you ask Wayne about something 40 years ago he remembers it like yesterday. He is what poolroom guys are all about. Knows how to win or lose the right way. If he bets he knows the right side to be on. Everybody in Baltimore knows Wayne. Played real tough for his money. When Wayne comes in you want to sit next to him, a great story teller.I hope Wayne gets well real fast so we can play a little one pocket. Take care Wayne,FastEddieF. Hope to see you at Top Hat real soon.

Very well said ED, This sums up Wayne to the tee!

Roger, Bill Eye is the man thats been backing Vanover and Brinkman for years and years and years.

Bill Eye has just as much gamble as anyone i ever been around or seen.

The man was betting thousands when hundreds was a big bet!

Could somebody please PM me Wayne's last name? I am trying to identify some photos from Baltimore, and I'd just like to identify him in the photo for future prosperity.

Fat Wayne and I are buddies, so I know he would not mind. I am embarrassed that I cannot remember it. :(

I used to have his business card when he was selling Fry Sneaky Petes, but I can't find it. :embarrassed2:

TIA to any and all responders! :)
