Sadly I got sick this year and only saw the first match, the rest of the time I was in the room sick. I didnt see the bracket of the event until today on the home page of AZB, I dont look at the home page often(my bad):sorry: Thats why this post is so late, I had no clue what happened with the event, I didnt have a clue what went down.


I just want to thank Greg and the whole Diamond crew, Jay, Fred, Samm and the rest of the people who made it happen, Accustats too.

Next year we will make it better, its a learning process and after 3 events its been good.

Congrats to Rodney for winning it this year. He told me he was going to win it, he was the only play who said "I'm gonna win it". I apologize to the players who didnt get in. Next year were gonna correct the mistakes that I made this year-and can make it better for everyone. Its impossible to make everyone happy but I know I do better.


I figure in November I will make some announcements about the 2012 Fatboy Challenge(It might have a different name)

You are the one that "stepped up" and started it - I think the name should not be changed or, at least, "Fatboy" should remain in the name somewhere :)

I agree with that one. It started out as the Fat Boy Challenge and should stay that way. It had its inception at the DCC and should be a part of
it for years to come, no matter what else is changed along the way.
 
Fatboy, I understand completely!!! Thanks for all you do and all your good intentions!

The name change is logical if you have some big name sponsor that wants to kick in some money for the benefit of the PLAYERS in return for the added exposure of their products!!!!!

I think Fatboy is signaling his willingness to work with potential sponsors that could help the struggling pro pool players keep a roof over their head and food on the table by adding their name to the title of the event!

This is a clear sign that Fatboy is not vain and truly wants what's best for his SPORT! Nothing selfish and nothing self serving!!!!

After several complaints about the name change. I just had to chime in on logical reasons for changing the name!

My hats off to you and all the best!!!!

Thanks so much for the nice words, In time I will be able to do more and Mark my my words, I will do more and not take any profit-i will roll it back into prize $$$. Now if by some miracle I win a event I put $$$ into I'm gonna keep it, LOL.


If I ever do a 6 ball event I'm gonna play in it, Last time I played 6 ball I lost $10,000, I made the dumbest game of my life and lost 9-2 for 10 bones, i'm too embarassed to go into more detail that that. That was just a set, a 6 ball event would be a crap shoot which could be fun.


the "Fatboy Challenge" will bear the same name at the Derby, you talked me into it Mr. Hogg Rider.


I am open to ideas for different formats for events, i like the long race 10 ball we have now, so perhaps a crap shoot high stakes 6 ball event might be fun, low entry fee-limited field, lots of added $$$.


I want to do different things, not the standard formats we see at other events. Even longer race single elimination 10 ball for the elite players. Or the 6 ball thing. I love 3 ball ring games, perhaps a $$$ added 3 ball game would be exciting, there would be lots of long hard pressure shots to sweat out. Its all about entertainment-Throw up some ideas right here in this thread and who know's if I can do it and people like the idea and if it makes sence, we'll make it happen. Lets brain storm and have some fun.

Lets make some fun events for the fans and put $$$ in the players pockets. Thats the winning formula.

and I will play in the events where there is some luck, that would be fun. Playing Shane a race to 15 would be embarrassing for me.

The 3 ball ring game is a good idea.

How about blind draw partners 1P race to 3 (added pressure of having to fade the "draw") :grin:
