NOW the $50 9Ball Waco,TX Event

NOW the $50 9Ball Waco,TX Event:eek:

Our Jan 5th 10 ball Ring Game was a success with Frank Cherry winning,Donnie Otterberry getting 2nd and Carl Ray taking 3rd.

The event in Febuary will be on the 10th to co-ordinate with Fast Eddies 9ball Tour Super Bowl event on the weekend of the 3rd.

Jan 6th results:

Things got CAAARAZY in Waco this month as we had 51 players show up to max us out in our 1 Day event. We were forced to shorten the races to 5 & 5 and we still didn’t get finished until 11:30pm! Were are strongly considering going to a 2-day event and opening the field to 64 players. Your input on this is very important to us!

The top picks this month were Donnie Otterberry from Midland, Roger Allen, Frank Cherry & returning 2-time champion Charles Holan from Houston, returning Champion Mark Webb from Whichita Falls, Mark Church, Louie Pacheco & Jason Pearce from Dallas. Out of these 8 only 5 would get in the money!

Finishing 7-8 were Donnie Otterberry of Midland,TX and Brandon Dunn from Dallas. Great showing guys!

Our 5-6 finishers were Our 2 Time returning Champion Charles Holan, from Houston, who is always a fierce competitor and returning Champion Mark Webb from Whichita Falls who plays very consistent.

4th place went to Jesus Hernandez from Dallas. Jesus is a solid player and one true gentlemen. We are truly getting to know Jesus and its been a pleasure.

Finishing 3rd was renound cue maker from Houston Roger Allen. Roger got a little upset during one of matches and seemed to catch on fire! He could not be extinguished until meeting up with our 1st and 2nd place finishers! Good job Roger on a commendable finish.

Ray Baca from Austin started out the day strong with wins over Albert Horelica 5-4, then local Don Perry 5-0, Charley Rikard from Mexia 5-1, Joe Mac Macnamara 5-4, winning a nail biter 5-4 with Jesus Hernandez, from Dallas, for a chance at the Hot seat. The hot seat match was a great one that Ray would win against Roger Allen from Houston.

A man on a mission is the only way to describe Louie Pacheco the whole day. Louie started out defeating local “young gun” Adam Austin 5-0! Next he takes down another local ,who always plays well, Benny Scott 5-4 before behind de-railed by Dallas’ own Jesus Hernandez. On the one loss side Louie would defeat another local who plays strong Joseph “Horsie” Oliverez 5-1, Brandon Dunn from Dallas 5-1 and returning Champion Mark Webb 5-2. A rematch with Jesus Hernandez would go Louie’s way 5-2. Louie would then extinguish Roger Allen 5-0! This would allow him a shot at the title against Ray Baca. Louie was smoking by this point and proved "to much" for Ray Baca. Louie Pacheco would be our new Champion. Louie was like teflon, whatever was thrown at him just slid off! He was clicking......Great shooting Louie!

Without our sponsors none of this would be possible! Special thanks to Jim Ashby & Clicks Billiards Waco for hosting this event! Thank you James Hanshew of Hanshew Custom Cues for bringing us cue repair. Thanks to Lewis Jones and Paul Blank of the Fast Eddies 9 Ball Tour for making us a qualifier for their event. Thanks to Summer Palace Chinese Restaurant for hosting the players meeting and giving us one Heaven of a deal on their buffet. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! Both you local guys and those who made the trip to Waco.

1st – 1705 + paid entry to the Fast Eddies 9Ball Tour
2nd – 860
3rd – 480
4th – 300
5-6th - 65/65
7-8 - 30/30

I was hoping to have a link to youtube.com with the Finals, but I was unable to post an event that long until I am granted Director Status.

The DVD is available to anyone who would like a copy.10 bucks. It came out pretty cool edited with titles and transitions.PM me if you would like one.

Thanks

Snake says,"come and git it". You wanna match up in Houston next weekend?

Ray,

You put on a great event.

I am looking forward to the next one. I think that a 2-day 64 man field event, would be perfect.

Hoping to have a little better performance next time (dogged it off h/h to Jason).

See you in Feb.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words Jimbo! We appreciate your input on the schedule. Does anyone else have any input on 64man limit and a 2 day schedule?

two days is to much...you will lose people if it's a two day event then there won't be a point in it being two days...

Great job on the tourney Ray. Regarding the increase to a 2-day tourney, I think it would work great. The only problem I can see is players such as myself driving down from the metroplex or other areas that aren't willing to stay overnight. It could cause a decrease in players. If you could get enough players, my opinion is "the more, the better."

Thanks again for running a great tournament and I look forward to February.

Hmm I think two days would be sketchy. I would like it bec I would end up staying overnight anyway. If you increased the entry slightly and made the races longer it could have room to grow even larger. I am not sure what the outcome would be for a 2 day event. Could feasibly go in either direction. *sigh* thats why you are the TD.

I agree, how about a $50 entry fee?

I have talked to several people that like the fact it's a 1-day tourney. That's exactly what attracted me and Jesus to the tournament aside from the fact that it's kind of a stepping stone into the Fast Eddie's tournaments.

Well heck, there are always people playing for $50, why not make the tournament that way for one day then some people won't enter. That will fix the too many people thing ahha.

Thanks Guys!

Thanks for the input! Please keep it coming. ;)

Sincerely,

Ray

Qualifications

This is NOT an open event. You may play if you have not had a 5-6th or better finish in any major tournament. ie Fast Eddies 9Ball Tour, Midwest 9 Ball Tour, Joss Northeast Tour etc….

We are also now forming a council to determine eligibility for players that don’t play in tournaments.

Please call to see if you qualify. If you are coming from out of town you must call when you are leaving your area or mail your entry in early. You must be present at 11:00am or any “stand-by” players will be awarded your spot. NO EXCEPTIONS.
