Matchroom cares about TV ratings and social media engagement.
Earl might just be the wildcard pick.
I think Earl would be to much of a distraction, for the USA team. Then there are the fans. They would push him into a meltdown.
Earl is in the same boat as Johnny and Rodney. Father Time has caught them all.
At a time when players must choose between Matchroom and WPA, it's hard to believe that Matchroom would send a message to the players that Matchroom is not yet a meritocracy and that politics can still stand in the way of rewarding those who are playing the full Matchroom schedule of events.
I wish Earl the best in making money from pool, but Mosconi participation is something that's meant to be earned.
#5 has got to be Shane Wolford. He went all over the place to chase the points. He got to the last 32 of the Hanoi Open.

If matchroom goes by it's own points system - Wolford is now in the 4 slot. But if he doesn't have enough points does Matchroom make him the auto qualifier or does JJ get two captain's picks?
I think JJ gets 2 wildcards. But I think JJ will pick Wolford as one wildcard. One because he would have had the spot if Fedor was not picked. Two because he has performed well and would be an asset to the team. IMO

Wolford has also knocked out some heavy hitters recently (Little Ko in particular) in races longer than 5. I think he could win a singles match or two.
