Fedor vs SVB score

I did not see the match, but I'm wondering about the playing conditions. Are the tables playing wet due to humidity? Are the pockets small? Does anybody know?

According to the commentators, both players have been struggling hard with the speed of the table. They are saying it is extremely bouncy, Gorst even told Scott Frost he has never played on such conditions. I don't understand how humidity would speed rails/cloth up, but that is what they are saying. It has been so bad that Gorst plays shape on side pockets where he would normally play off of rails for shape on corner pockets.

Both players, but especially Shane, are missing the money ball, especially into the side pockets. Sometimes they are both missing the 10 ball. They both seem to be having a hard time getting into stroke.

Maybe they should have practiced something other than the break for the last several days?

I didn’t watch the match but it was very hot and humid here in KY yesterday. Today is supposed to be cooler but there is rain in the forecast so that’s only going to make the humidity worse.

Or just maybe you dont fully understand how bad playing conditions influence players performance..🤔
You are correct. I have zero concept of that, and probably will never know the game well enough to tell you a table is being affected by this or that. Other than filthy balls and humidity causing balls to be "stickier" than usual (more skids/CIT etc).

It is my understanding that heat causes tables to roll faster, but not humidity, so I don't understand what is going on here. The room is air conditioned and I have not heard them saying the room is hot.

Nice comeback by Shane! I watched the first half of the night or so, until about 10pm CDT, I think it was somewhere around 14-22 then. It was looking like Fedor might keep a solid lead throughout the night. But, I'm also not super surprised, Shane has experience in these long races and I had a feeling that was going to be to his advantage over the long haul.

While it's not my favorite type of match, I do like this because I really like both of these guys, probably my two favorite players right now so I'll be happy to see either of them win.

Rubber absorbs water so the humidity makes it more bouncy. Often what happens is the cloth/balls are sticky/dirty so the cloth plays slow but the rails are fast from the humidity which is a weird combo

Humidity can make ANY table play bouncy to the point of being gaffy. Someone there outta to check nose height. If its off combined with humidity you're gonna have issues. I've seen perfect GC's in Ok/Tex that turned into near un-playable monsters when the humidity spiked.
