This shows a picture of my New Thermo Plastic Material. It is Aliphatic so it will never change color or yellow. I can do it in Joint and Butt material as well, in any color.

I was thinking due to the permenent High Gloss it could also be a delrin replacement as you would not have to spray over it so chipping of clear coat in those areas would be eliminated.

Physical Properties:

Flex Modulus ASTM D790 *100-250k psi
Tensile Strength ASTM D412 *2500-4500 psi
Elongation ASTM D2256 *50-400%
Hardness -Shore D ASTM D785 *40-65
Abrasion -TaberCS17 ASTM D4060 50 mg/1k cycles
Tear Strength ASTM D624 200 lbs/ linear in

Thoughts?? Thanks

I'd like to check it out sometime, please let me know when you have some for sale.

Thanks!

Is there a temp rating? More of a concern when fine sanding/polishing.
Thanks,
dave

As of now 450F which should not be a problem with shapr tools. I can increase it by adding some melamine if needed.

Good question.

My thoughts are "How/When can I get 1 foot in Ferrule, Joint, and Butt Cap sizes in both Black and White?"
Let me know Tom.

Gary, not many know this but my lathe is in Fort Lauderdale. I will be going there Friday. I may have to tweak the formula but everything so far says ready to go.

I than have to set up permenent molds.

I chemicly am designing this for cues rather than taking something for something else and selling it for cues.

If all goes well Friday I will announce a small lot of samples as it will take 2 weeks to mass produce.

Will do. Just got to peel some of the mold off, feels freaking great. It would be comparable to like a SUPER Isoplast.

I'd like to try some. Do you know if it swells up when you polish it like some of the thermoplastics.

I will say no as it is close to an infra structure material I made in chemistry but will say 100% this weekend. At present I don't even think it will hold chalk stain.

I'd also like to try it in ferrule size, many of the local players have Meucci cues, and this might be a suitable material for replacement. Tommy D.

Was just thinking about the #s above. Have to get to bed but real quick.

On the FM and TS, seems you want higher numbers. FM of 250,000+ and a TS of closer to 10,000. Seems like the above would be really flexible, much more so than an Isopalst or RPE. Delrin had fairly high #s but the Impact strength is low which probably explains somewhat why it chips so easily. I am pretty much locked in to what I use, which is an Isoplast (useless someone specifies) but I'd like to check some out.
