Are there any female cue builders?? I haven't seen any postings by any. Do they exist.

I was wondering what interesting twist they might add to the profession.

There have been a couple in the past. Annie O (RIP) was probably the best known.

There are many husbands and wives that work together in the shop though. The Blacks, Fullers and Gilberts come to my mind. Chris Nittis daughter works with him. I'm sure there are more that I can't think of right this second.

Hightower's daughter works in his shop.... Doesn't she?
She does not build cues. She does a little of everything else, but tends to be a little careless at times, so I won't let her use the heavy equipment. A hand drill is about all I let her use and one time she wound her long hair up in it. :)

Sorry to get off topic... but my wife mentioned to me just yesterday there was a recent university student/worker who died while working at a lathe at the school's shop. Yale I think? Yep, her hair got tangled up in it. Keep your daughter on the hand drill....

Can you quote yourself???

Yes I see the list of women that either are wives or daughters of accomplished cue builders but are there any stand alone female builders. (not to take anything away of the work that these women have done)

We all know that there are many male cue builders that are self educated in the industry and buy or make their cue building equipment and then turn out some spectacular pieces.

Have any women done that? and NO, I am not putting down women. I am just looking for another aspect of cue building.

What aspect ?

I guess something different, women are just wired differently than guys, so who knows something entirely brilliant can come out of a cuemaker from the opposite sex.

Like a lipstick compartment at the butt section. Stainless steel Flat Face joint. I mean flat on four side so you use this as mirrors, battery operated oh never mind that :D

What aspect ?

Hahah, good one. And don't forget, if my wife and step daughter had a hand in it, the market would be flooded with pink pool cues.

What aspect ?

Nothing specific.... I just was thinking that something different might come from another view point.

You most likely already know that women think a little differently than men. After all, what man has truly ever figured out a woman????
