i was bored last night and since there is a new "craze" the custom jp's i figured id give it a shot... this was my first attempt...

my hats off to jim and alton for their work. i dont know what they charge but im sure it isnt enough. just a simple set takes a decent amount of time and effort... dont think i will be making them often so dont worry guys

I'm most thankful you choose to post your thoughts on making Joint Protectors.
I've been told by many that I give a lot of cap for the amount I charge.
Just think if you put a thick clear coat on your caps, or had to make them super glossy..
Your cost and time would be even more...:eek:
No disrespect to your Caps Dave..
You did a nice set.

If I decide to do them I Will put a nice finish. I really was just screwing around.
 
Nice set of JP`s Dave. My hats off to anyone that works with cues or JP`s. Its very fine detailed work, that takes a very keen eye & good craftsmanship to boot.

Those little superficial bastards are as much work as building the front end of a cue. It's just not worth the time & effort. It is the same joint work the cue gets, plus extra in the shaping department. I commend the J/P makers, because it's a job I cringe over.

Nice...minus the coins...never was a fan of the coins...but a nice stone or inlay would be great on the top...no currency!
 
Thanks for the kind words guys. I agree with eric. Alot of work. For bow on I think I will leave them up to the professionals. Just doing it as a nice gesture for a friend the ordered a cue. He doesn't even know he's getting them.

Amazingly. They line up on the cue perfect. I didn't make them on the cue. Just measured them to .850
