Awww
SVB got the donut.
What was that? ...in a race to 120 he’d!...
VARIANCE!

SVB has buzzsawed plenty of people in winner break format and now that he got bent over and assaulted, EVERYONE IS CRYING! 😂😂😂😂

His sack has to be f*cking sore as f*ck from the grip the nutthuggers have on it.

Matchroom fixed the break rules for 9-ball for a good reason and with good effect.

Apparently DCC isn’t using Matchroom break rules. They are allowing a very wide break box. Which means the cut break can be used to make the wing ball and control the 1-ball. Players at a 820+ FargoRate can turn the game into a triviality when “wing ball” break formats are allowed. Add winner breaks and large packages are commonplace because the game turns into a trick shot break contest.

Watching Josh run out a set in this format is neither surprising nor entertaining to me.
I'm surprised WNT sanctions it, without using their break rules. Oh the other hand, the 9 ball rounds would not have been over yet if they went back to tight pockets and the actual WNT break rules.

1 person almost did it, stop with the end of the world everybody is running out the set nonsense.

When was the last time somebody ACTUALLY ran out the set??? It DIDN'T happen yesterday, so when was it???

No idea, but the way Filler is playing, it is scary. He kept Shane in his seat practically the entire set, and broke and ran an 8 pack, from what they said above. I did not see it though. But, I believe it. He kept Alex Pagulayan in his seat too, for most of their match. Beat him 9 to 2.

Why has it not happened yet?
Filler just seems to have Shane's number. I'm not saying Shane can't win, but physiologically he's at a disadvantage at this point. I think Filler and Gorst are the match-up to see. Maybe we just throw Filler, Gorst, SVB, FSR, and Shaw in for a winner-take-all contest. Who doesn't want to see that?

How about this for a format...say race to 150. played on two tables, a winners table for 1 point and a losers table for 1/2 point. Loser of the loser table sits out and gets nothing and loser of the winner table drops down? I'm just making this up on the fly. What do you think?

Wasn't it Earl? Not in a tournament.

And, he's another guy who lost his break.

In case anyone is wondering, neutral racker for the finals. Joshua still making the wing ball (all but one break). He made four balls on the break, with the 9 on the spot. Alex has made one of the wing balls once, but I don’t think it fired straight in.

I don't object to the occasional game, but I do dislike matches won based on the break alone. As somebody already says, nobody gives up the break gambling unless the other player is a huge underdog and you are giving them the sun, moon, and a coupla stars. You know you can give them everything but the money ball and still win a lot more than you lose.

I don't have an answer. The truth is that my break was a big part of my game in my gambling years. Shane's break was a big part of his game, still is I am sure. Filler has the break down right now. In past times Corey often had a break that had a big effect on the results, not necessarily in just nine ball.

Any working solution bangs up against time constraints. I'm sure that there are people that won't see any finals with them all played on Sunday.

Last night he was placing his cue ball where the base touching the table was inside the line. Today, with a ref watching, the edge of his cue ball was inside the line.

No idea if that made any difference whatsoever.

This is what you get with the template rack. The only "fair" thing to do is alternate break but then every match will likely go hill-hill and take forever.

Then why did nobody run out a set?

I watched em play Pag 9 ball where he won 9-2, noticed the wing ball go straight in.
Right after, Pagulayan took up the box with Filler. Looked like an issue or complaint. He clearly noted the difference between the box formed by the diamonds and the smaller regulation one. Dunno what rule they use.
