It Plagues many players out there. We do everything from wearing a mask to putting toilet paper up our nose.

I've tried even putting vaseline in my nose.

What are some of the things that others have tried to help cope with the smoke.

For the last 3 years trying to play, my game would go in the tank almost immediately when breathing in cigerette smoke. Usually taking about 3 to 4 hours to destroy my level of play altogether.

In the last 2 minths of traveling on the road and playing in the smoke I have finally found the secret on how to deal with this and not have it be as huge of a factor .

I'm at Breakers right now in Mobile Alabama where the smoke is as bad as anywhere especially when it's packed like this weekend.

The smoke doesn't effect me like it did a month ago. I still don't want to stay in it continuously, but for the most part my level of play is not effected by this.

What I will share with you all will explain why so many of us that play well and don't smoke go to these smoking tournys and just bomb out.

I will share this huge secret on Monday:rolleyes:...........After Breakers............

Have some fun with it everyone. See if you can figure out the answer.

:) Good Luck geno..........

very interested

I'm really interested in this...Please share

I've always left the room about a half hr before my match to reboot my O2 level and this helped enormously, also, I've seen players carry oxygen in small amts like football players do to recover.

Wear a gas mask with an industrial grade hepa filter? Has the added benefit of completely sharking the opponents.

my problem with playing in smoke has always been my eyes and using Similasan eye drops takes care of that.

My guess is if you can't beat them... join them. Please tell me you didn't take up smoking!!!

FYI, I always have Visine in my case and use it when my vision gets a little blurry and eyes start to burn. I would wear goggles if it didn't look so stupid.

About the only thing I can think of is going outside between matches for fresh air. The downside of that is if it's nice and sunny out it always takes a while for my eyes to adjust to the low light of the pool room.

You started smoking?

.

Move to a no indoor smoking state. It is so nice, to say it improved my life is an understatement. One with Medical Marijuana preferably.

Since Ive been a Respiratory Therapist for 20 years the answer is: Have a mdi inhaler at all times and go outside for at least 10 mins every 2 hours to get some fresh air.

I'm happy for you Geno, but I could never do either one.
Stand the freakin' smoke, or, play at a higher level.

An MDI?

With what in it?

MDIs are commonly abused, especially among teens.

I'm assuming you are guessing that's what the poster is doing and not that you are advising it.
