Hi,
Just wanted to let everyone know that now there is a place to play pool in chiangmai,thailand.I know lot of people visit thailand and also chiangmai.

now you can play your favourite sport in chiangmai as well.

No i am not a stake holder in the joint but really happy to see place like this come up in my neighbourhood.

It is located in trendy nimmanhemin road and sports 9 brand new wiraka tables and very friendly and courteous staff.

Thanks so much,this is just about the only spot here with 9ft tables except one table at my home.

I'm curious as to how these tables play. They look a little like knock offs of the Brunswick Metro table. They look nice, but making a pool table that plays good is not so easy.
 
Very nice place. My feet are hurting just looking at that hardwood floor though. Maybe the tables are moved and they rent it out for party's and dancing. They do look like knock-offs of the Metro.

When I was 16 (1957) I was working as a screw machine operator in NY. My boss told me to show some business men from Japan around. When they came to our new high speed screw threading machine they gave me $100 to take some pictures of it from every angle. About 6 months later they were making a knock-off that sold for 1/3 of the American version. Johnnyt

Hi Jay,

These tables indeed look like knock of metro's.wiraka is a singapore based company though and i belive they are importing everything from china.

These tables play pretty well but comparing to brunswick is another thing.they are way too inferior in quality if compared to the brunswick table's.but i will say in playbilty they would be about 70%.
This is the first pool joint opened in this part of thailand with a 9 ft table, u can find a few 8ft tables ina few bars but this the first joint with the 9 ft table.Chiangmai is mostly dominated by snooker halls.
I was myself considering opening a joint for a while but could not find a suitable place.But that idea goes to rest as of now.
I usually play at my home where i have put a gold crown 3 knockoff from taiwan and i would say my table is lill better than these tables but still i dont get the atmosphere at home what i get here and not to forget some really cute girls to put the racks:D

Very Nice place!! I have several friends from Burma, sadly they cannot go back because of Gen Myanmar. When they left the war they stayed in Thailand for quite some time before coming to the US. They just got US citizenship last year and I am proud to know them. They speak very highly of the time they spent in Thailand even though it is a difficult situation for both cultures.

Nice- I need a place like that in Koh Samui (which will never happen- you're in the "big city"- I'm on a little tourist island:p ).

I may be in Chiang Mai in the next few months- I will definitley stop by.:thumbup:
 
Very nice looking place, but I can see those nice shiny windows in the 2nd picture being broken sooner or later.

I dont think chiangmai is a very big city like bkk.I havent seen samui yet as well.

nice place man ! i will be in Samui again in March, maybe you can make it down there and we meet at Brians ? its a little far to fly up there to play pool...also i prefer the Brunswicks in Bangkok :-)
