FindSnooker.com: a list of snooker tables in the USA

Hi everyone! New to the board here. I've been playing snooker for about a year now and I have to say I'm hooked. Just wanted to add some more locations with snooker tables.

Dodo's Pool Room
The End Rail
Rudy's Rack & Cue

Wow! Your new info merited a mid-week update to the site; your contribution means the number of snooker tables known to be in Georgia has doubled. Thanks very much!

Do you play with a snooker cue?

If you're interested in getting a snooker cue you might want to check out www.thesnookerforum.com if you haven't already.

I'm just glad I could contribute! I'll be on the lookout for more tables, whether they are good or bad.
I play with a pool cue,a Pechauer with a Predator 314 second generation shaft. I've been considering getting a snooker cue but I would have to get a new case and everything,so I would have to save up for everything. Is is hard to adjust playing with a snooker cue after playing with a pool cue? I still play pool so I don't want to constantly be adjusting to the hit and feel of a snooker cue.

Thanks. I'm hoping to have at least 200 rooms on the list within the next few months.

I'm not sure how hard it'll be to adjust to using a snooker cue, but I'll find out when my Mike Wooldridge cue arrives (http://www.handmadecues.com/). It has a 3/4 joint, which is something I've never tried before. I've practiced using a snooker stance, and though it was a bit uncomfortable (or even painful) it didn't seem too hard to get used to.

Poster "bkunderme" plays both pool and snooker and has different cues for each.

After I've had a chance to hit with the Wooldridge a bit I'm going to start a new thread about switching between cues. I'll be curious how many folks have tried it.

Hey im new here as well. Ive been playing pool for a few years. I love snooker, but i cant find anywhere/anyone to play. I'm in Georgia as well, (Gwinnett area).. There are no places at all! And thanks for that list.

I have one more place in Georgia to note with a snooker table:

Pool Room (Marietta) has 1 Snooker table I think. I've never been there though.

The Pool Room is now Marietta Billiard Club. When I called on May 27 I was told they no longer have the snooker table. I would guess it was removed when ownership changed hands.

By this evening I plan to publish the U.S. map of all current listings. The map should make it easier to track down the pool hall with a snooker table closest to you; in some cases the pool hall may be in a neighboring state.

Map with U.S. snooker tables now online

The map with U.S. snooker tables is now online at

A few notes:
1. To get more information about a point on the map, refer back to the state listings linked from the Home page.
2. There are two listings in Anchorage, AK, but you'll see only one flag until you zoom in.
3. I haven't verified the positions for all the listings; the positions are automatically generated based on the addresses I provided.

clicked on Oregon...absent I see:

The Cue Ball
1262 State Street
Salem, Oregon 97301
Ph. (503) 362-9740

Most afternoons, you'll find a golf game in progress...
I believe it's a 10' table...but could be wrong.

You're certainly welcome. In time I'm hoping to either add more info and/or link to sites in other countries, too. I'm all for playing a few frames while traveling abroad.

An update: as of this evening there are 201 confirmed rooms in the U.S. with snooker tables.

The 200th confirmed room and its 10' table are found in the private Indiana home of AzB's own "100kbet".

Not everyone checks the Snooker forum, so as usual I updated a parallel post in the Main Forum in the hope that someone who sees the post(s) will be able to contribute yet one more listing.

can anybody refer me to some standard 'practice' shots for snooker? I've owned this table for years and have played a lot of snooker, but am to the point where I really want to start hammering out some drills and standardized shots for the table. I think it would probably help a lot in getting me up past the 50's on a good run.

on a side note about switching between cues. We have two house snooker cues we bought from a store in indy. one 14oz one 16 oz. both 60" cues. I've found two things. One, I love the feel of a 60" cue regardless of the game. 2, the change between the two really isnt that bad. after a bit it gets to where sa long as I know what cue I'm grabbing then I feel pretty comfortable with it. Muscle memory kicks in for you for the difference between a 16 oz and an 19oz. kind of how some shoot a free throw the same way, but easier than a 3 pointer in basketball. the main thing I find myself needing to keep in check is english, which plays a hair differently with the smaller balls.

Right now CAM is taking a cue of his for me and turning one of the shafts down to 11.25 so I can use it as a snooker cue as well. I'm hoping that it turns out to be a good decision and I'm able to switch between shafts OK.

"Line up" is a common practice method.

Lee Brett, who posts here on AzB, can be seen practicing Line Up in this video:

If you'd like a practical bit of memorabilia, then consider picking up a copy of Complete Snooker for the Amateur by Joe Davis.

Finally, you can find additional guidance at The Snooker Forum:

A specific post about practice routines:

A thread on TSF about books:

I think it's worth revisiting standard pool drills such as the "L" drill into a corner pocket and the draw drill into a side pocket. For pool players I think it's especially helpful to practice shooting into the side pocket from very shallow angles to just barely clear the rounded corners of the pocket.

Are the shafts of the house cues made of ash or maple? I'm curious to hear about how the deflection of the house cues compares to the deflection you get from a pool shaft turned down to 11.25mm.

I just started playing with my new Mike Wooldridge snooker cue last week. I'll post more info about it after I've been able to spend time experimenting.

thanks a ton for the links/help rethunk!

the house sticks shoot pretty straight actually. Although I had to quickly replace the tips on them (no surprise there) I cant say that I have a terrible time with deflection by any means.

An update: I've had a great time shooting with my Mike Wooldridge Shark cue. The ebony butt has a great feel (and yes, I meant to write that). I've taken some photos of the cue, but before I post them I'm going to take some additional photos with better lighting.

Big thanks go to Alan Morris for sharing with me his list of pool halls with snooker tables. Cross-checking his list with mine will keep me busy for a while. I've already confirmed a number of additional sites, and I expect to add more in the weeks to come. Currently there are 210 confirmed locations with snooker tables in the U.S.

Alan also designed the new logo for FindSnooker.com. Thanks!
