We were going to wait until the Derby to unveil our new sanding finshing and wrapping lathe. This is built on the same base as we use for our big lathe. This is not for tips, ferrules, or cue work. Basicly working between the chuck and tailstock. the unit pictured is slightly different from our finished product. It shows a full 4ft lathe dovetail. These will not come with a full 4ft dovetail. The headstock and motor will be mounted on a small section of dovetail, which may be adjusted if you wish. The tailstock will be on a slightly longer dovetail, which is also adjustable up and down the length of the lathe. This gives a wide variety of sanding choices. Powerfull DC motor and controller mounted directly to the headstock, also alowes flexability and adjustment to what you desire. legs are also adjustable. The base lathe will come as you see it, with 60 deg and concave live center. both are replaceable parts. Anyone wishing to see this in person, Stop by our booth at the derby City. We will have a lot of neat products this year. Thanks!!!!

Hi,

I think you should be able to post your prices here! I have a few minutes a day to look at AZ Billiards and don't want to visit another area to see product that should be posted here. Makes no sense!!

Very cool. One concern I have is that when you are spaying there is no protection on the end of the lathe or lathe bed for all the build up that will occur when you are finishing a cue. Any inside on this?

Lee -

This is exactly the place to post this information. See quote below taken from the AZ description of the Cue Machinery forum.

"All about cue machinery. Buy, sell and trade machinery as well as how to make those machines do all that work."

If you would prefer not to price something publicly that is your choice but I, and I think many others, would like to know up front what the cost will be before I waste my time (and yours) to find out my pockets aren't deep enough no matter how good the product may be.

Just my $.02.

Regards,
Stoney

I'm no electrician so my apologies if this sounds really dumb...

...how easy would it be to convert it to run in the UK on 230-240V?

Tony, one of the cue makers took a large plastic coffee can lid and put a slit in it so it will slip over your maintenance pin to protect the chuck and headstock from over spray.
For the bed, use a towel, plastic drop sheet or get a small piece of pvc eavestrough and cut it to drop over your bed.

hi ,

congratulations for your nice pieces.

what rpm and Power have this DC motor ?

Is it the same that mounts on your lathe?

Lee,
The "Ask the cuemaker" section is where they banned selling and pricing. The "Cue Machinery" section is where we are now to do it. I followed that whole thread and the idea was to keep the "ask the cuemaker" section only a Q&A section.

Please let us know the price.
Thanks,
Trez

ok thanks for the heads up price is $475.00 plus $50.00 shipping USA only

$475 is an outstanding price for this unit. Actually I am suprised as I know how much this hardware cost. Lee would have almost no profit margin after his labor is added. If I didn't know how to make this setup myself and needed one, I would jump on it befor Lee comes to his sences.

Jim.

Lee, you have sort of answered already - but just to double check

1. Is the motor reversible?

2. What is the speed range and HP of the motor
ball park estimates would be fine.

BTW - LOVE the music on your site:)
