Hi AZ´ers,

my collection got another new cue and i am realy happy about it.

I ever wanted to get a TAD with his typical dash and rings in the butt, i love that design.
And the 8 points, the Joint Protectors and a fitting Whitten Tad case are a big plus to that one.

Let me know what you think about cue and pics.

Regards,
Erich

really nice cue, great jps... were did the jps come from?

Erich,

That is an another beautiful addition to your great collection!

I think the most distinctive attribute of Tad cues is that although they are extremely intricate, they still manage to have a subtle, elegant, clean appearance - they don't look too busy, you don't get overwhelmed with the way it looks - that latter thing is something that annoys me occasionally with some of today's so called fancy cues.

Very nice cue and I believe that your pictures show the cue's intricacy very well.

Tad cues are almost my favorite, if that guy Gus never built a cue(with the greatest respect), Mr. Tad would most likely be my favorite cue maker. I love Tad's I played with one for years just a plain jane, it was and still is a awesome cue. I have only played with one Tad that wasnt a good playing cue. I have had a few issures with flaws in some of them I have owned but I never let it upset me.

Have Alton build caps for your Tad, they will be amazing.

nice TAD there, definitely a keeper.....a little surprised with the ring work..

i was surprised, too, but with macro pics you are able to see all the little mistakes on a cue.
But if you hold the cue in arm length they look perfect and i realy like the style from these tad rings.

@ Dave, mamone and Fatboy

thank you all for your kind words, and like you i realy like his style. :D
It´s not overloaded but his inlay style in the butt i love.
And like mentioned from Fatboy, the cue hits fantastic, like a plane jane one i could test hit from a friend some years ago.
All together it is an awesome cue and you have to look over the small inperfection on the last ring. ;)

@Fatboy - these are caps from Alton, but not so fancy ones !

Regards,
Erich

Wow, what a nice and genuine TAD!
I think it's my favorite cue out of your collection so far!
But it's hard to tell, they're all sweet :speechless:

Thanks for the kind words, Jule !
Maybe when you beat me one time on the table, i let you test hit it

Thanks again for your kind words.
It´s one of my favorite TAD Designs, too and i am realy happy to get it.
The hit in my eyes is great, maybe a little stiff for some people but extremely solid.
The building year should be 2001 (i was told) !

best regards,
Erich

Great cue erich,

I have one in my collection. Alton made a protector set for me, and overall the set is dynamite!

Good pick-up.

Hi Will,

nice to hear from you.
I hope all is working out great for you, and you and yours are in good shape
And i am happy about the TAD, too. You know its my first TAD, and i wanted one since a long time.
Maybe i will have a chance to get an ivory one in the future, with fitting rings on the joint - will see ! ;)

And i will let you know when i am in the States, because i want to meet you again - thanks again and best regards,

Erich

Hope you enjoy it!

It is a gorgeous cue and an outstanding player!

Doug

PS: I put the joint caps on it and I thought it was made in 04'

Dear Doug,

it was your cue ?
I didn´t know that, because i got it from Bill, you know.
He told me something like 2001 or 2002, so i thought i could be a TAD.
But if it was yours, you will know it better, and 2004 should for sure be a FRED, correct !?

Regards,
Erich

Tad still makes cues, to what extent, I do not know but high likihood that many of the later cues are collarboration between both father and son. The last time I was there on a Saturday, Tad was busy working so I only got to talk to Fred. I was able to see Tad do some work since Fred invited me into the work area for a little bit, though he didn't seem to want to be disturbed.
