a young man was at my house last night and while we were shooting ask when was the two piece cue invented tried to Google it no luck thought some of the fine az members could answer

The best cues are of the two piece variety, and the reason they are two piece is that they can be taken apart and you can fit on any number of extensions to your cue.

This is one of those things that I bet will never be quite settled. While we may know who the first quality maker of two peice cues was, I don't see any documentation coming out as to to who first invented cutting a cue and putting a joint in it. I'd guess it would be close to when cues were first used after being developed form the mace.

What does this have to do with the OPs question?

I bought my first two piece cue well over 200 years ago. I played good with that cue too!

So your saying snooker players are inferior because they use a one piece cue? lol

So, you are asking if he said something he didn't say?

Where did you see any reference to Snooker players? Or any kind of player?

He said two piece cues are better.

I have yet to see a two piece pool player.

With all due respect to Mr Shamos, and all the fine work he has done, there were
two piece cues available some 20 plus years prior to 1829.

Ironically it may have been the desire to repair broken cues, rather than the convenience of portability that brought us the first two piece cues..

Do you have a reference for your information?

I think the guy posting is not a native English speaker or just does not read the post, he had some odd replies in the past what had to do with maybe a few words in the post rather than what was asked or replied.
