For all the Hoppe Lovers (and Ted)

The one with the blue label looks like a late 2nd gen, 50's maybe. The black label I believe is late 60's to early 70's? I'm not sure.

i think you might be right, and if im not mistaken those late model brunswicks were produced in asia (please correct me if i'm wrong)

Nice cues tho,
Grey Ghost

i am no expert but if memory serves me,the guys above are right, the black label is later and was considered not quite as nice in the old days

How bright are the colors on these babies? Complete with the Original Brunswick Tubes. Does anyone know the difference in the 2 labels? Thanks for looking.

Wow! I never thought I seen the day when he..."Ted"... got mention in a title of a thread! I have seen everything now! Oh I know Ted is wanting some original Willie Hoppe joint protectors for his Hoppe cues too.

Sorry don't mean to thread jack but was curious.. what exactly is a "Hoppe" cue or "Hoppy style" cue.. what does it entail? I see all sorts of cuemakers making Hoppe cues and I can't really tell what makes them that..

Those would be "Titlist" joint protectors made form Willie Hoppe blanks.

If it makes you feel better, I could start a Brian-Cochran thread.

By the way, did you get a Cochran cue recently??

It's true. Ted wants these cues so he can chop off the points and make various JP's for his collection.

Sorry. But I have to sacrifice these to the almighty cuesblues in hopes of a fruitful year.

I have always thought that Hoppe style cues were simple four point cues with veneers. I would also include a Hoppe ring or Rambo ring ( ivory or ivory substitute ) on the end of the butt sleeve. I hoppe this helps:wink:.
