The original story by John Brescia and the subsequent movie role was patterned after Ed Kelly, who was from Baltimore.

For those that knew Baltimore area players in the 60's/70's, was Conrad "Buzz" Wagaman on the radar? Buzz was from northern MD but traveled to Baltimore and sometimes NJ or PA to make games.
