I hadn't seen this thread. Thank you everyone. I appreciate your kind words, thoughts, and prayers.
I had to pick Mom up from the funeral home today. Brutal.![]()
i think few people know and understand just what you have both been through and sacrificed over the past 4-5 years.
I have watched you give and give and give and never ask anything in return. calling you a friend is a privalige we should all know and cherish. your concern and love is always heartfelt and unconditional. i feel you to be more capable of unconditional love than anyone I have ever known.
Sweetie you have hundreds, thousands of friends. i wish just once in your life you not to be afraid to lean against us either. For most of us, we would be honored to be of any help we are capable of.
There is a community here of misfits, social outcasts, and often, very hard people. Still in it's weird way, a family. Despite what you have grown to learn and feel, this family adores you. This family wants to help.
You are a vital member in this sub-culture and very often the calming affect on the storm. lean back against us, we love you!!

Very touching, emotional, and a great tribute to your best friend. It must be very special to have a loving mother.
Still being a newbie to forum, I'm still going to extend my deepest condolences to you.
Although I dont know you personally my heart goes out to you. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.
AWESOME read!
Thanks,
thanks for sharing. I'm very glad that your life has been one, with a close relationship with your parents. I know how important it is to allow your mother to have her wishes near the end. I am not far from making those difficult decisions myself. In one hand you want them to be protected and cared for properly, on the other, they want to be in their home. My mom knows that her kids will respect that and will fight for that to happen.
Stay strong, my dear.
That was beautiful, Melinda. Very, very nice.
Hold your head up, and smile. You and your mom both deserve it.
Sorry For Your Loss Mel My Condolences Too You An Your Family
Thank you everyone, and thank you Lewis. AZB is now my only family. It was just Mom and I left. I do have many many great friends who are trying to help me and for that I am very appreciative of their kindness, offers to help, and the kind, loving, sincere words I see on AZB and texts and messages to me.
Mom had advanced emphysema and her and I lived together for the last 4 years because my Dad passed then. She struggled to breathe well the last 3 years, but that declined the last 8 months. But on Tue she fell at the house, Wed she had a successful hip replacement surgery, but on Thursday she had complications, and on Friday the docs told me her body was shutting down. By 4pm Friday I moved her to hospice and she passed with me by her side at 945pm.
She never wanted to pass in a hospital and talked about hospice a lot. As hard as it was, I gave her all her final wishes.
But I miss her. My only solace is she is no longer suffering and can breathe beautifully in Heaven. She's no longer suffering, but I currently am.![]()
