Went straight to ebay with this one. I realize that Franklin SW's have been coming out of the woodwork lately, but this one is special, and priced low. If anyone from AZ buys it, and 3-4 months down the road I have the cash, I will gladly buy it back at the same price + shipping. I'm getting used to a much lower-$$$ cue that plays real nice, but this one is like part of my right arm.

I also realize that a lot of claims are made as to cues having belonged to pro players - this one is the real deal. I'm not up for arguing about it, but feel free to post any dissent that gets you off :)

Id play in this but would need to make it worth my while.

I would be interested in paying less and limited the time to 60 days, and if you decide to buy it back pay a 10% premium.

Otherwise this is a intrest free loan for the period.

Not trying to rob anyone, but damn this is a loser.

For you, Ken, here's a special deal: Buy it for the advertised price. If you don't like it, sell it to a friend or put it on ebay (just like you would for any cue you buy and decide you don't want - nothing different here). If you DO decide to keep it, you pay me an annual 10% 'enjoyment' tax. If you sell it and feel regret, you pay me a one-time 30% 'remorse' fee.

In all seriousness, I thought I was offering value-ad to forum members, but I was thinking in terms of selling to players, not to dealers. The idea of a dealer trying to buy low and sell back to me at 10% if they can't move the cue, is, well....a little repulsive.

So, thanks Ken. You enlightened me and I withdraw the original offer - we'll just leave this as an ebay auction - hopefully some of you will think it's a good value and bid.

Where's the "value add"?? I buy it, I play with it for 3-4 months, then you buy it back for the same price.

What Ken wrote is correct- that's an interest-free loan with the cue as collateral.

Why would anyone want to tie up their money with zero return?

i think he is saying if your looking to sell it after not liking it or maybe needing the money yourself... he will gladly buy it back for what you paid.. i seen it all too often where somebody sells a cue to someone and they fall onto hard times themselves and need to sell only to have that person buy it back at a much lower price..

also.. nobody says you have to sell it back.. he was just offering the option just in case somebody wanted to take the gamble and try the cue..

I'm glad I read this before typing the exact same thing.

A good deed never goes unpunished, right?

If all sellers offered this, most of us would be much more confident buying a cue based on internet pics :)
 
So .. I had Amar Kang's Bobby Hunter cue (Tony's cousin) for 2-3 years and when Amar wanted to get back to playing pool, I sold the cue back to Amar at my cost. It didn't take him long to to get back into being one of the top players in northern California.

It was my choice to do so ...

Beside, I've held on to more cues than I can count for guys with seller's remorse and not a single one came through the dough after promises :)

I don't see any arm twisting by the seller so let the man sell his cue!

While certainly open to interpretation, I don't read it that way.

Nothing is worse than "new cue fever"...people hit a rack of balls with a cue and determine that it is the greatest cue ever built. After 3-4 months of play, however, they realize that the cue does not produce the subtleties that they are used to, and they go back to their old player, unhappy with the "new" cue.

I think Runscott is offerring 2-3 months of guaranteed play and no risk of loss...buy the cue, play with it for 3-4 months, if you don't like it, return it for your money back...pretty good deal on as fine a cue as this appears to be.

That's great that you offered the cue back to Amar (as you did for me once as well). I was really hoping some of Tony's skills would rub off on me through this cue - maybe they did a little. My tournament winnings for the year are $35 :p

Mikey Town, Bama - thanks for explaining it better than I did. Jamie - your levity is always appreciated.

But Ken made me realize that the '3 month' offer was a really bad idea from a seller's perspective, which is why I have retracted it.

I also changed the pricing on the cue, as I truly would have seller's remorse if it sold for the price I had listed.

Regarding the weight questions, I just opened this thread for the first time since responding to Ken, so my apologies (I don't live on the internet :))

I don't know how much it weighs and don't have the means to weigh it. My best guess is 19.5 - 20.00 - I've owned 4 SW's in that range, and this one feels no different. It is balanced at about 18.5" from the butt, with either shaft. The cue is straight and the shafts are straight. I am not a 'table roller', but it rifle sights great and I rolled it on the coffee table and see no issues, but will roll on a pool table today or tomorrow and report back.
