Free IPT 8-ball Match Tonight (Important note if you haven't signed up yet)

First time I ever saw a pool match on a square table ( or was it my monitor? ), but hey what do you want for free. I just recieved my 24 inch monitor, just in time for the match.
 
Yeah, Kevin Trudeau's type are a little sleazy. Like a snake oil salesman. Or those guys that made all their money telemarketing and feel good about it when they make a score on some naive chump. Well, we all get to choose who we allign ourselves with. Some people make those kinda judgements based on what's in it for them.
 
Oh the irony of it all. Most everyone thinks the IPT is dead and would not give the time of day to KT. But look at these 31 pages of talking about the IPT. Not taking months might I add, but in less than one full day. I can't remember the last time I saw a thread grow that fast. So Kevin has got your attention again has he? He accomplished his mission. He wanted an audience for his show and we were there. Yep I got home in time to watch the last half also.
 
Anyone who is able to put together a successful men's pool tour, I wish them the best. But the length of this thread is not unususal for a thread that is the one everyone is commenting on when a live match is going. Similar threads have occurred during TAR matches.

Not that Stu Unger was a hard working honest guy with a day job. ;) I was a telemarketer and the best in the biz, I loved every minute of it. I like the hustle, as a legit business man I still like the hustle, you cant make a living being a square anymore-trading hours for dollars. Which is sad and also why I dont judge others. Stu was the best gin player ever and perhaps the best poker player too, shame we lost him before poker blew up, can you imagine what he would be worth had he not succomed to his habits. happy christmas and new year.
 
I watched about the last 25% of the match and it seems:

EARL can still spear in shots that can make your blood run cold

He doesn't play shape "3 balls ahead" and when his luck runs out it's "bad" luck

JOHN didn't allow himself to get unlucky as often as EARL

Finally, EARL needs more sleep, and, if he doesn't put too much pressure on himself he's got a shot to once again be a world class player.

I can only imagine how things would be if Stuey were still around. It is a shame he couldn't beat his demons because besides the problems he dealt with it sounded like he was a very generous and kind man that is when he was not on the felt. Because when he was playing poker he was a killer. I just got done reading the book Nolan Dalla wrote about him and it is amazing what Stu accomplished in the poker world in his short life. A real champ and believe me they explain in the book that pretty much no one breathing had any chance of beating him in Gin. No one! That just amazes me. Anyway just wanted to chime in on this post because the book just fascinated me and I certainly wish Stu Ungar was still around because I would love to see how he would do against all these pros now and all these internet players. I think Stuey could definately hold his own and take down the cash!

And how much he could have made if he layed it down good instead of annihilating the best gin players in the world. He just wasn't a lemon man.
 
That's for damn sure! He could never dump he didn't have it in him. He hated losing that bad. And the thought of someone beating him that he knew he was better than would have crushed him inside.

EVERYONE was totally sucking up to the MIA Kevin "The Ho" Trudough. Now that he's paid off three quarters of the money he has owed the players for 18 months, he's a great guy again.

Sigel and Dumbo reappear from hiding after laying low while Trudough was paying off his old debts. They act as if nothing has happened and it's business as usual in IPT land. I nominate them both for Pool's "Whitey" awards named after the illustrious Detroit Whitey, who never met a man he couldn't cheat and pat on the back at the same time.

Earl and Johnny both looked tight, still suffering from the ill effects of the Mosconi Cup. Maybe they thought Peach and Drago were going to walk in at any moment and challenge them to a doubles game.

They shipped in players like Larry Schwartz and Santos for what reason. Maybe just to show that all was forgiven and Kevin can come home now. He still isn't ready to show his face around any pool players. Give him another six months and he'll be on one of these shows himself. Also acting like nothing ever happened.

I think Johnny and Earl were embarrassed for even being there. Of course Earl barely knows where he is half the time, and doesn't care anyway.

Well, if it was played in Chicago, it's nice to have some of the local talent on hand: Larry, Santos, Ike and Chris Gentile are all from the Chicago area, John (friend of and frequent straight pool sparring partner of Larry's), at least one of Larry's students, plus some other Chi-town folks I know.

Do you know where it was actually played?

By the way, I forgot to ask, what was Johnny putting on his hands? I'm not sure if it was powder, he was just pressing his hands onto something on the table.

It's powder. A lot of the professionals do this. They've been doing it forever.

Did anyone else notice how fast Johnny stuck that wad in his pocket after Deno handed it to him?
