What would play better; Frey, Tiger UltraX or Predator 314-3 Sneaky Pete?

They are all around $400...

I like the predator the most but with 314-2 or Vantage shaft tiger 2nd and then frey but really u can't go wrong with any of them to be honest all great players

hi

ahahah I know, one of my league mates is trying to decide... Since I used Predator I am trying to convince him to buy either Frey or Tiger ehehehehe

Frey plain and simple. Made in america by a craftsman vs mass produced production makers.

They are all decent cues. If you like solid maple shafts, the Frey is the choice. Tiger makes an LD version or regular Ultra with more squirt.

Personally, I would pick the Frey and put my Tiger shaft on it. Once I have a shaft I like, the other choice is more for weight and balance.

Any

They all will play good, you need to find the one that has the balance, weight and shaft taper you like.

Predator. Available. Adjustable. Warranty. Great cues. And returnable or exchangeable through Seybert's if you're not satisfied with it.

There are plenty of people for which Frey would be the right answer.

Every decent quality cue (almost any cue over about $200) plays great for the people who like its particular performance qualities. All of them are capable of performing at the very highest levels. When it comes to decent quality cues there literally is no such thing as "hits better"--only what hits better for any particular individual, and the right answer for me is probably the wrong answer for you. It just all comes down to personal preferences for feel, balance, deflection, etc. There is no right or wrong, only a right or wrong for you because of your personal preferences.

Asking what cue hits better is like asking which food dish on the menu tastes better. Not trying to be snarky but it really is that silly of a question. How can somebody else tell you what food you will like? It all depends on your personal tastes, and the person giving you their opinion has different tastes from you.

If you will tell us what cues your friend has hit with and liked then we can recommend which of these three he might be most likely to like, although it's certainly no guarantee. It is a lot better than picking one at random or going with whichever one gets the most answers from people in this thread though. So what are all the cues has your friend has hit with and liked?

Buy the Frey. You won't be disappointed!!!

He will be if he doesn't like the Frey kind of hit, feel, balance, deflection, etc!!!

And lots of people don't. Same goes for the other two.

The only way our answers would mean anything at all is if we know what cues he has liked in the past and we give our opinion on which of the three most closely matches what his personal preferences appear to be based on that. We can't even rely on things like "he wants a cue with a solid hit and good feel" because those mean very different things to different people and what is a solid hit and good feel to one guy is a crappy deader than dead hitting cue to the next guy.

I played last week with a Predator 8k-4 with 314/3 shaft and the cue had a dead feeling for me, poor feedback, I didn't like it at all.
I bought this week a Tiger Ultra X shaft for my Joss butt, and I'm happy with it. I can put more spin and shoot the ball efortless than with Z2 shaft.

Go with Frey or Tiger, but try it before.

Schmelke. If you like ld shafts, have them build one, or they can match up a predator, tiger, ob, etc. Even with the aftermarket shaft, you should still be under 400. Have them make a shaft with a shot ferrule etc, and it will be under 200.
Schmelke is the best value in cues today. ;)

Frey. Best play and best resale value. And you can always buy a pred or tiger shaft for it.

Tiger. I recently got a tiger sneaky Pete with the pro x shaft, and man does this thing hit good. If you don't go with tiger, I would recommend OB. I here great things about their products, especially the classic plus shaft.
