From the US Open to My Collection...

Alton - The Haley is set with cue caps and a case with the Haley logo on the top of the case. But no worries, more cue caps are always needed for other cues. You may not be able to make the matching rings but you do have some creative designs. Talk to you soon...

Kevin - Felt like a kid at Christmas when I finally closed the deal on the cue. It was an awesome feeling and I am still inspecting the work under a loop to see the fine details. So if this cue is in the top ten, it must be in some great company.

Eric - So glad to have finally met you after all the great things I have heard about you from mutual friends (mainly Ken K). I understand from Stan that you had a nice BB in your case. Would have loved to have seen that since I am a big fan of Tony's work and love to talk to him each time I see him. Hope to see you at VF2009.

Tommy - thanks for the kind words. If not for the custom Whitten that came with this Haley, the elephant ear case you sent me would have been an inviting home for this Haley. Thanks Again!

Cyrex - The trip was incredible to say the least. Making new friends, visiting old friends, watching the matches and finding time to chase a gem. Used my Master Card on the trip - So Priceless!

Troy - you have so many beauties in your collection that I am glad to know this one opens your eyes as well. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you at VF2009.

Guy - Forearm is a beauty and the butt is just waiting to be stroked. Hope all is well!

Berny - I just may have to pay for your tickets over to the USA just to teach me how to take pictures. One day I will have the play some more since your pictures inspire me.

Sean - the collection is coming along and the peak of my mountain is still the one I found with your help. Thanks once again for the compliment and support.

Vinny - some of the early pictures I saw of Haley's inspired me to get one. One that I still have saved to my computer is Your Number 157. What a beauty... I would take care of your beauty should she need to be adopted!

Don - First person to mention the gambler theme - I was keeping that to myself until it was mentioned. A friend did not recognize it until I pointed that out. Simple, elegant and ready for the high rollers. Ron did a great job with the theme on this one.

Tom V - You are so correct... I can still walk the isles at VF for my next pick up. After that, I may need some help if all the dealers want are large body parts.

Kenny - thanks so much. Additions are fun and at times subtractions are necessary when a collection makes a small turn. Gave up two hoppe's to get this one.

Simon - thanks for the kind words my friend. Nothing like rejection for me!

Jimmy - speaking of patience, our friend Stan was the most patient during the show. He walked away with an awesome piece. It must be 10 times better than what was offered for sale in the booths. So with his patience, I ended up with this cue in my collection.

Tommy T - was Number 155 in your hotel room at VF2008? If that is the one you showed me, I knew at that point I was in love with these cues. You know if both you and Vinny allow me to adopt each of your cues, I could have three consecutive numbers in a row... WOW! On second thought, I need the body parts beyond the legs.

Jaime - The gambler (by AC) that Stan has is by far the best gambler I have seen in person and I am hoping to see pictures of it and the little brother that was brought into the family over the weekend. My gambler is a simple design and a beauty. Thanks for the kind words and putting this cue into the same leagues as the Scrimshawed Gambler.

Thanks to all for the kind words.
Hope to find another Haley to post soon!
They do come in pairs don't they?

myron

Thanks Myron, I'm not ready to give up custody of 157 yet, but maybe we can work out a cue exchange program!

Since AZer's now own Ron's last 10 or so cues, maybe we can arrange for a family reunion and group shot at VF2009. That would be some line up!

I'm guessing you probably won't be taking this to Wednesday night bar league. :groucho:

That is a very good looking cue that would be a great addition to any collection!

Mr. Haley does great work and is a very good family man also.

Hi Myron,
you my lucky Buddy. This was exactly the Haley what I want.
So enjoy and when I came to VF I wanna play.
The BEST Haley for sure,Ron is da Man.
Ralf

Good Job and It's great

Happy to see great taste and uniqu cue in Myron's collection. Congrate and hope I can always follow your way.

Balance

Pocono - The cue is a Haley not Harley... But I do own a Harley as well. Will include a picture of my bike just for you. Thanks for the kind words.

Vinny - Sorry to hear that you want to keep the cue but that is a great idea to line up a group of consecutive numbered cues for a group shot. It would even be better with Ron Haley himself. He will be there for the event so I am sure we could pull him away from his wife.

JimS - NOPE! No league pool for this cue.

Ruthless - Ron is a great cue maker and an even better person from all that I have heard. Looking forward to talking to him more in the future. Thanks for the kind words.

Ralf - This Haley would be right up your wish list with the burl and ivory work. Lucky - absolutely since a good friend wanted it at first and I just allowed him to chase the cue until something bigger in the way of a cue dropped into his lap. So it worked out for both of us even better than expected.

Kam - There is no end to a collection and that will include cues. You more than anyone should know that! But some of the fun is the chase. Looking forward to hearing about when you will visit Tony in the spring. By then I hope not to be as busy and be able to drive over. Saw Tony at the US Open and he was great to talk to.

Scott - I am very proud of this piece.
Number 154 is accounted for with you as well as 155 with TommyT and 157 with Vinman. The next ones I can find are 163 with DWBOD and 164 with KennyC. We have to get these together for a group shot and find the other pieces in between.

Balance - If I am paving the way, the road may be a rough one for you to follow. But the trip is fun none the less.

AnitoKid - Thanks for the honesty... I too love this cue.

Great Haley Pickup

Myron

Really happy that you were able to put the Haley in your collection. Couldn't go to a nicer person and really enjoyed our time together at the U.S. Open. Keep in touch.

Stan

Kenny - Also a pleasure talking to the team from High End Cues. Your pieces inspire me to move cues for gems much like the Haley I just acquired. About taking pictures... Never a problem to help you. But I do hear that the postal system may not guarantee a safe delivery. A beauty like yours may get lost in the system or maybe you may end up with another cue not of equal value (I do have a few to move you know ). Talk to you soon.

AnitoKid - A grown man and his toys - What can I say! THANKS.

Tim-n-NM - His work gets better with each lot and his technical achievement will only grow. I cannot wait to see the next series of cues.

Stan - So glad you arrived home safely from the US Open. I had a blast working with you to see about upgrading your collection. I am very happy you found the beast that will bite you for attention and even happier that the cues that you chased were passed over. Had you not passed on this one, it surely would not be with me today. Thanks again for the conversations and looking forward to the next Billiard Event.

Myron,

When you buy a cue you make it count!

I'm fortunate to be on Mr. Haley's list and can't wait til' he starts on mine.

take care,

Matt
