Martin is a great seller (and no wonder he has such a stellar reputation) who definitely values his customers!!

They are incredible players, that is why they are $$$$
Southwest cues are incredibly great playing cues, although they tend to be on the heavier side of 19.5oz, that is why they command the prices they command. They are also very well built with tight tolerances and they have full orders for the next 10+ years. They are not rare and there are always plenty available but they are always in high demand and if you can get one for less then 1500 in decent shape you can always turn a profit when you resale the cue.

Congrats on the pick-up Matt. I too wondered why they sold for so much being a plain cue, but no matter, you must know something I obviously don't!! I wanted to congratulate you on the pick-up of a nice cue, enjoy her! I'm glad she's gonna be played with also and not just thrown into a closet...THAT makes it all the better IMO!!!!

That is certainly the best looking SW I've ever seen. I'm not a jealous person and I felt a little ping over this cue. I'll trade you all the cues I own for that one

Well, I appreciate the offer -- but I've been watching and waiting for a quite a while to see the Southwest that really drew me in. The timing with this cue becoming available, and myself have the necessary resources to act immediately was all perfect and it was just meant to be. I'm really excited about it.

oh boy... how can i explain this?
actually i have a few ways to explain this;
1st way: i've been in a coma since 12-29-2007, 10:37 AM and just came out of it today.
2nd way: i saw a few sw's for sale today and one post led to another thread and then another then somewhere else (i got lost), plus i was on my first cup of coffee after a long night and posted. again, also kind of like being in a coma this morning.
i guess both of the above are true! and after reading the above threads from Thecoats and RackRunner, i immediately went back into 'my' coma.
and the worst part; i know Matt a little and we PM'ed each other when when he bought this cue, and i got one a few days later. i thought i recognized it, but thought, wow, he just bought another one like the december one which i am pretty sure he sold.
Fact: i need help!!
