i wonder if i tell barry that my ex grew up with and went to school with his daughter if id get a decent chance of getting a cue made for less then a down payment on house this side of a century!

ugh I rarely comment on cues like this. Normally I shrug off these super high end cues as just "super high names"...but this cue has that intangible "it". You can't help but be drawn in to the modern interpretation of classic historical masterpieces.

Sad to see someone selling something so aesthetically pure in the billiard sense. I hope the buyer cherishes the hell out of it. Just doesn't get any better.

This beautiful cue was a true gesture of Barry's kindness. The cue that was built for me was stolen. If i ever was so fortunate to get another like it i would NEVER sell mine. g.l.

Ditto !!

my thoughts exactly. the cue barry made me is going nowhere. too bad this one won't stay with the original owner. gl.

guy

Ditto !! Too bad Barry doesn't make the profit from this flipping. Just saying.

Sad day

I rarely comment on cues for sale, but this is really sad. We never know "why" someone has to sell their gems, but this has to hurt. Good luck with your sell and I hope all is ok. Consider selling a liver and keeping the cue.

Gotta say... I don't really like the smell of this either. I have to wonder if Barry had any inkling that this cue would be "flipped" immediately. As I understand it, the same thing occured with a Tascarella.
Fact is, top makers choose who they build cues for - and when - based on what moves them to do so. But my sense is that, when they choose to build someone a cue in the "nearer" term, that decision probably has some tacit trust attached to it. That's why known "flippers" often move toward the end of the list.
Just feels like a break of faith to me and, at 55 yrs old, I can appreciate the weight of what seems to have happened here.
Just sayin'...

Good God Man

Hey...enough with the "flipping" and "What a Shame" talk. He paid for the cue, he should be able to sell it when he wants to and for whatever reason he wants to. If I could double or triple my money in the stock market, I would invest in that stock knowing it was a safe thing and so would you. Just because it is a cue made by one of the best does not change that formula. One thing I have learned frrom reading countless threads on AZ is do not pass judgement until you have all the facts. This is just my honest opinion.....
