FS: Brand New Barry Szamboti Cue

Two Balls

The problem is almost everyone becomes a flipper. Whether its 1 week, or 3 months, or 1 year or whatever. The right reasons are lost immediately when the next "must" have item is found.

But to the guys who have waited 5 years, 10 years, or even 15 years, to see someone that can't run two balls have a brand new cue because of his "right reason$" is slightly irritating.

JV

That wouldn't be John He's a 1 pocket man! Yep John knows how to Play Pool! Hayden aint bad either, No Problem on the case John I have a few extra ones and Szamboti's belong in American made Cases!I'm looking foward to playin you guys again! Ron

Barry builds cues like father did!

No one else could afford one,I know I couldn't,he Doesn't build cues for the common working man. I'm not knocking him that's just the business of it, like a Ferrari and a ford.

I don't think Barry sells spots in the line. I don't think he builds cues for the money either, or their would be no room for the flippers to sell them! 21 years and less than 550 cues from Barry this makes them RARE! I am rich by no means and have 2 Gus 4 Barry Szamboti cues and to get one of mine you would have to be RICH.I bought all of them on the secondary market,Other than stating Barry Sells Spots in Line the biggest insult would be to buy his cue and not play with it. Barry builds cues that play great like his father did . I am going to flip a few cues but they won't be Gus,Barry ,Searing or Tascarella's Yep these are my KEEPERS some things are better than money. I play with all of them and I take Altons Caps off of them to do so Yep these guys are the Masters in my opinion not taking anything from the other cue makers or Cap guys but these are the ones I buy and play. If I was Rich I would get a big house and pooltable but for now I'm happy with the cues and haul them to CBC in my 2001 PT Cruiser! Ron

So are you sayin Barry's cues are for PROS ONLY? They are nice to look at while the other guy is kicking your ass on the table as well!LOL If it wasn't for Flippers or people selling their Gus or Barry Szamboti cues I wouldn't have one and that is a sad thought indeed! As I enjoy looking at it while Walker Runs the Table with his! Ron

Let us all not be too harsh. We all make mistakes in life.
Please let this thread die down as nothing is for sale anymore here and start a discussion thread on the main forum.:embarrassed2:

Allow me to start another thread for people wanting to have szamboti hat and t shirt.:embarrassed2:

What? Don't tell me those 2 clowns came to town & I missed it? :(

I am not speaking for Barry or anything but just to stop some of the careless speculation that is going on.

Suppose I were a great cue maker with thousands of people who wanted to buy cues, for the most part one of the great joys was making special cues for special friends. Lets say I could make 25 cues per year so i make a list for people for 20 cues pr year and I leave a space for myself to have 5 per year either for the wife or what ever I need to do for special situations such as a guy who offers me $30,000 for a cue when I need the cash to support my family

Going in, I know that I can't say no to my friends request, so I put myself on my own list reserving 5 or so each year for situations like this, that way I maintain the integrity of my list on the one hand and my flexibility on the other.Every should be happy, every gets exactly what I promise.

Then lets say I do it this way but it doesn't please everyone, and some few jerks start complaining about the fact that I am selling my cues so cheap that the buyers can double their money on day one.

When people still complain it starts to be clear that some people are such losers you never can make them happy,so I start a different list of people who I will never do business with. For simplicity I call it THE LIST,as opposed to the list of buyers

My guess is that's the way most custom cue makers with long list do business, and I can not see a thing wrong with it.

Of course I am the kind of guy who would sell the cues to the highest buyer and would never consider giving the public a chance to double their money while I did all the work.

Is something wrong with my thinking?

My personal opinion is Barry needs to make a major increase in his prices. Let him reap some of the rewards. I mean basically the middle man is spending a few minutes of his time without absolutely no overhead, no time vested and no skills and making a $h!tload of $$$$$$$$$$$.

Barry, raise your prices.................

Yep same thing happened with his Dad! Gus wouldn't raise his price either? I think they want us POOR FOLKS to be able to buy them! Ron

Now if we could get the flippers to lower the price?

ugh I rarely comment on cues like this. Normally I shrug off these super high end cues as just "super high names"...but this cue has that intangible "it". You can't help but be drawn in to the modern interpretation of classic historical masterpieces.

Sad to see someone selling something so aesthetically pure in the billiard sense. I hope the buyer cherishes the hell out of it. Just doesn't get any better.

I was reading this thread thinking about how nice this cue is and how much i'd love to own one just like it. A few dollars or a lot of dollars profit couldn't get this cue out of my hands and i'm not sure you could get it from me with a "Gun" pointed at me, it's that nice. This is one of my all time favorite Szamboti cues and if it was mine it would be passed down to my grandson and not sold for a profit.......
