FS: Steve Klein - Szamboti forearm

Thats right... the first Steve Klein to incorporate a Szamboti forearm.

19.5 oz

Shafts: 13mm, ivory ferrules each 4.0 oz

Straight grain maple forearm, ebony prongs, black, orange, green and natural veneers. 3 MOP dots and a slotted MOP diamond in each point. 7 rings above the wrap. Ebony backend with hi and low acrylic bands, 24 MOP dots and 4 MOP slotted diamonds.

Wrap: Cortland #9 white with green spec linen

Joint: 5/16-14 pin, ivory over steel, black collars, ivory ring with black/orange/black stitch ring.

Just some notes: This is a Bushkaesque cue with design elements incorporated from 4 Bushkas. The slotted diamonds are hand cut and hand slotted to the larger slots that were common during the 1960's.

No brainer....

This has to be one of...No..Let's rephrase that, This IS the best deal I've seen in the last year or more...by far...anyone starting a high end collection or wanting to add to theirs, this cue is a no brainer...it'll only increase in value...but what do i know...

When you take the fact that the forearm is clear straightgrained maple, the bumper color is a close match to the originals, the aluminum colored acrylic band rings, and all of the other embellishments, this has got to be one of the best Bushka renditions ever produced. If this identical cue had been produced by the older names like Mottey or Schick, etc you would be talking $5,000+ and up. This is an absolute steal for what it represents and the detail level and execution of the build. Somebody better grab this one and put it away before it is gone.

Not to question this, but just to understand how this comes to be.... how did Steve come about a Szamboti forearm this late in the day? I owned one of Steve's first cues out about 12 yrs ago when he was learning from the late Mr. Chester Krick and had not made the huge investment in his shop just yet. A little history on this forearm would be interesting and probably convince someone to pull the trigger before someone else does. If Ihad the money...... you know that one..

In the gallery I have a history on the build of the cue. It is a Gus forearm, that was on a Palmer. It came to me at last years SBE. The Palmer was very tired, as you can see in the pics in the gallery. Steve did a tremendous job with this cue, as you can see.

Titlists aren't the only cues worth saving...
