By full ebony are you talking about ebony forearm and ebony butt, with or without points, with or with out inlays, ebony handle or ?

ebony forearm and ebony butt , no inlays and no points.. maybe just some ring work ..

I have a Cognoscenti all ebony cue. It has the very light weight G-10 glass pin, which allows it to be nicely balanced and weigh 19.5 oz. I stand to be corrected, but I think most cuemakers core ebony cues, to control the weight and balance.

Most of them do core ebony, but I have a all ebony Bluegrass that is not cored. It is one of the best hitting cues I have played with to date.

Here is the full ebony cue that made my Pete Ohman, jet black and power hitting.

I actually like a brown streak on my solid ebony cues. Not alot of brown just enough to give some character to the wood. On inlayed cues I prefer solid black. Am I alone on this?? Sorry for being off topic your thread got me thinking about it. Chris.

The Omen is a hot cue, great ringwork. My full ebony ed young cue hit like a freight train. I like the hit of a solid cocobolo or ebony. I think that coco hits harder since it is rated as a harder wood. I like both but got to have some figure. Deacon

I love ebony and I love my ebony Coker but I'm prejudice.

Uncored it'll hit like $#!+.

I have an uncored ebony and it hits great, the only problem is that it will bring the balance of the cue forward slightly compared to if the forearm was cored, but makes for a tremendous playing cue (when made properly and) when fitted good solid dense shaft wood.

I am quite sure almost everyone on here will tell you it's not what materials are used, it's how it's made that matters.

Now of course this is coming from a high quality production or a custom makers shop.

But I can say I have had two Cokers, the first had an ebony forearm and Tulipwood butt, this one has an ebony forearm and butt........and the only other stick that comes close to the hit of the Coker I have now is an old 3rd catalog Palmer I had.

That Palmer hit SOLID and FIRM and just felt plain good to play with. The Cokers felt (and feel) the same way.

Now the Palmer played great because of old wood? conical shaft? they knew how to make them back then? Pick one or all............

Do the Cokers play and hit great because of the ebony forearm? Tom knows how to build a cue? Probably both................

Wow great looking cue.

OMEN ebony is hot for sale in Taiwan, Mr. Ohman have the best quality of ebony blank.

I had bought more than 20 ebony cues from OMEN, never disappointed

Pete is a great guy to talk to and deal with.. its too bad he wont be at valley forge this year.. he is one guy i looked forward to talking to every year. he always has some nice things for sale too..

I`m usually not much in for just solid ebony cues front and back, but have to admit that with the rings you have, the cue has an outstanding look to it. If it hits as good as it looks you have a great cue.

Thanks for the pictures.
