I hope owner of the cue would not get mad at me (in case he does- I will remove it),

but I am curious to see votes from people- full splice TS thread in this section was extremly hot and I think most of the people saw a cue

here is the cue with a lot of angry people arguing about lovely full splice (there are more pictures on 4th page of the thread, with close up pictures of joint, pin,venners, butt cap, logo):

This cue is not for sale and if it was I'm not interested but I can't figure out why anyone really cares if it is real or not! Tim and Mike made some nice cues but in my opinion this is not one of them!
 
I'll be honest. I've never been a big fan of Scruggs cues. And whether or not this cue is real makes little difference to me. Its a pretty cue regardless. If it IS a TS cue, its the nicest one I've seen. I just still can't figure out a few things:

1) Why someone would fake a TS cue in the first place

2) Why someone would fake a TS cue and not make it some kind of heavily inlaid, monster cue

3) Why, if this is so clearly a fake (according to some), and there are so many things that make it obvious, why not share what those things are?!?!

It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Its a pretty cue regardless and as long as the owner is happy, that should really be all that matters.

Maybe they knew it would be the only TS full splice cue with a logo and would stir up the entire TS world?

Well, I don't know. He said he definitely built a cue that turned out to be a Tascarella. And I have no doubt that he didn't make the cue. But that doesn't make it fake. If him not making it makes it fake, then these are as well. I know for a fact that he didn't even put the tips on them.

I have no reason to doubt that Eric talked to Tim. I have no doubt that Tim says he never saw it. But that can be explained many different ways. With the fact that Mike made pretty much all the cues that came out of that shop in the last few years and he also worked out of his house, it is quite plausible that he tested himself and tried something new. If you can't see Mike trying something new, then you didn't know him. Look at his designs and you will be hard pressed to find the same designs by other makers. His work was awesome and I will always regret selling my wrapless. But, water under the bridge.

Oh, and Nick. Going by your pricing, your plain Purple Heart hoppe cost 400 more than the cocobolo wrapless Scruggs with the inlays and triple rings everywhere.

Interesting results so far. Apparently, a few more than just the "Nick fan club" have voted. Wonder if this trend will continue. Suffice it to say, this has been somewhat of an eye opener for me.

I find it hard to believe that Tim would not remember IF he and or Mike went thru all the trouble to build ALL the fixtures necessary to do a complete full spliced cue in their shop. TO which the answer is a very definite "NO that never happened" - a direct quote from Tim in my conversation with him earlier today. This fact is central to whether the TOTAL cue is a Scruggs to which "we" now know the answer. SO next question would be - is it a conversion on a full spliced blank from another maker, and if so was it done by Tim or Mike. Now here it could get interesting - Tim says DEFINITELY NOT . . . and unfortunately, Mike is not around to ask. But given the quality of the work originally pictured, personally I find it difficult be believe that either Tim or MIke would put the "TS" on that blank. Let me add that putting a TS on the buttcap of a cue is not terribly difficult for any relatively skilled individual with equipment that is readily available. At best we MIGHT have a "conversion" - but anyone who holds out believing that THE ENTIRE CUE was constructed by Tim or Mike or anyone else in the Scruggs shop is WRONG, plain and simple.
 
It looks to me like the ivory butt has been reshaped to look like a modern TS butt. I also notice that the TS logo is missing the right side of the T's top. I thought that they pantographed their logo (someone correct me if I am wrong) so I would expect to see some sort of fill artifact.
