That might be hard to prove. I think most world championships until the 1970s were won with full splice cues. But since then you have had more than one world championship per year. So you are probably right, but it is not because one plays better than the other. It is because of what was popular at the time.More world titles have been won on short-splice or sectional cues, I believe.
