Hello,

Just wondering if someone can tell me what the difference is between full and short splice cues? And how does it affect playability? Thank you for your thoughts!

Kevin.

kevin you can also do a search on this site for the answer......many of us have debated this many times over so all the info you need is here already, you just have to find it.

Thanks a lot guys for your help on this subject. Considering what I learned here today, I would say a full splice cue should be a better cue (better hit). Then again I could be wrong?

Then... in that case I guess it goes back to the old saying "The cue is only as good as the player who uses it". Thank you for the input.

That would be a good place to start. Until anything can be quantified, the best will always be opinion. Full splice short splice who cares? Who built the cue and how well it was built play a much bigger role in playability than the basic technique used. IMO

Thank you for all of your opinions, they have really helped me understand the difference between one and the other and some more!!!

More world titles have been won on short-splice or sectional cues, I believe.
That might be hard to prove. I think most world championships until the 1970s were won with full splice cues. But since then you have had more than one world championship per year. So you are probably right, but it is not because one plays better than the other. It is because of what was popular at the time.
