One year I was very successful deer hunting and had to get them cut & wrapped after work one night , I completely forgot that it was Halloween Night !
My roommate took off with some of our friends and I was really getting things done when there was a knocking at the door , I figured it was one of the neighbors messing with me , I hollered I'd be right there , they pounded on the door next , I didn't take the time to put my big butcher knife down as it was red with deer blood and the rib cage was on the kitchen table , very visible from the front door .
I grabbed the door knob flinging it wide open and it a loud and clear voice I asked what the **** do you want to the total shock of this young kid who all he seen was this guy covered in blood with a huge knife and a body of some sort on the kitchen table !
Needless to say he cleared all 8 steps off of the landing and didn't look back , in all honesty I expected a visit from the police but it didn't happen ha ha
I still wonder from time to time how far he ran before he slowed down or stopped ?
Then what would they of done if I had the heart in my hand and acted as if I was going to put it in his sack of candy ha ha !
