Funny pic/gif thread...

Someone commented "oh great another hack who doesn't know how to repair pool cues" and then a guy commented that he wouldn't be saying that if he had to play the guy.

First I had to post in the comments that I make custom pool cues and this is the worst advice on how to replace a tip I've EVER seen and then I said that I would give the guy the seven out.

Jaden

Be fair Jaden, give him the 3.

On top of that Bob, you have to post the pics that Brent Hartman (BHQ) posted with the cue tip that was nailed down with a finishing nail.

Between the both of them, they have succeeded in taking cue repair to a new level.
Me, 16 K later and I could have done it with a pair of scissors, a glue gun and a pound of nails.
How stupid do I feel now.

I'd post that pic if I had it; but, ....

Duct tape and tie wraps belong in this scenario somewhere.

I saw the comments and found them a tad uncalled for, sorry to say.

No need to belittle the guy. His method is likely OK for the average table owner.

Actually I tried to log in because I was going to rip him a new one for posting such a dumb a ss instructional video. My password didn't work otherwise I would have.

I don't know what Jaden said but whatever it was, the guy who posted it probably deserved it.

Ok....

If someone said that the best way to change your tire was to take a grinder and grind off the nuts and then re-thread the lug bolts and use a smaller nut would it be uncalled for to let people know that doing that would likely ruin the lug bolts???

There are people out there that will think this is the way to replace their tips and they could ruin their cues in the process. People need to know that this is the WORST way to replace their tips. Even using the slip on tips, they should do just that, slip them on, not cut off the ferule and use a glue gun to glue the slip on tip in place.

That is absolutely the WORST way to replace a tip that can ruin a shaft.

You think that my comments were uncalled for??

I also love his disclaimer that he isn't responsible for the content.

I only said....

The only thing I said was that I am a custom cue maker and that that video was the worst way to replace a tip I had EVER seen and that if someone used that method to replace a tip on one of my lower end $400 cues, they would probably have to pay $150 dollars to repair the damage done.

Then I commented to his post that people wouldn't be saying that if they had to play the guy that I would give him the seven out.
