Been to Lockhart tx yet? Check out smitty's making bbq in the same building since 1904 when cruz started,

Try Louie Mueller's in Taylor, TX; Blacks or Kreuz's Market in Lockhart. I predict you'll not return to Rudy's. I once spent a week touring central Texas just to try and evaluate all the 'famous' BBQ houses. I keep going back to Mueller's and Blacks years later.
