When I bought my house there was a dead tree in the back yard with a chain attached to it. No grass growing in a circle around the tree with same radius as the chain. Takes a special kind of a-hole to chain a dog to a tree.

You are totally correct... but I've been laughing at that Far Side strip for 30 years so I'm biased. Don't try bringing facts and logic into this argument!!!
