My father is 82 and occasionally has a good story about one of the old pool halls.
A young kid comes in pool room on his way to school. Asks for a pack of gum. Gets a pack of gum and places a 100 bill on the bar.Owner says I dont have change for that, come back with a nickle later.kid doesnt return with a nickle.
Kid does this a couple more days over a 2 week period. One day he brings a friend with him and they ask for 2 packs of gum. When the grinning kid puts the 100 down, the owner picks it up. Tears it in half. Hands 1/2 back to the kid, tells him come back for the other 1/2 when you have a quarter!
Kid left just about crying.
