I was wondering ,the difference between phenolic tips and a g-10 tip ? My break jump cue has a phenolic tip and it breaks and jumps ok. But a guy a started playing with has a g-10 tip on his cue and he sys they are better and make jumping easier , i was wondering if i could get some opinions on them ? And also someone else said the g-10 is illegal in some leagues or tournaments ? Thanks in advance !!

g-10 is harder than phenolic, which is the same hardness as the balls. as a result, g-10 can crack the balls when you break. that's why some places don't let you use g-10. some don't even let you use phenolic.

Heres my 2 sense, if it makes any cents.
Lose the phenolic and G-10. Use a good tip like a Super Pro.
I did and will never go back.

well now i break with and play the entire game with g-10 i can cut balls better than ever takes some gittin used to ps the "tink" will drive your opponent nuts also

I play with Super Pros and they're a great tip. I recently acquired a samsara j/b and the tip is absolutely out of this world. I HIGHLY suggest their proprietary j/b tip - which is 9 layers of leather - to anyone out there. I don't miss my phenolic tip at all and I don't have to worry about legality of my cue.

Icebreaker Tip by Tiger

Just installed this tip on my Predator BK2 and its the nuts...it has leather in the middle for Breaking..and Phenolic on the sides for jumping...

i buy tips that don't mushroom?

also, mushrooming is preventable on mushrooming tips with burnishing or other methods of hardening the sides. and when it mushrooms, you can cut it off. leather tip wear is inevitable. I kinda like never having to replace my phenolic jump break tip

I just chopped off Super Pro and put Samsara j/b tip on my break cue ... don't have a review 'cause I literally just put the tip on now.

It seems to be a lot harder than Super Pro ...

White Diamond, by J. Picone

This seems to be a good compromise between hard plastic and hard leather. Anyone tried this?

I think I am going to go talk to Jim and some of them there Samsara tip's heard someone else talking about them. Me like new stuff...

On the Subject of G-10 or phenolic... NEITHER... learn how to play better with the cue you shoot with. If you feel it won't hold up them maybe you need to rethink your cue. Not an Attack cause I some folks are sensitive and need hugs to.

Just run what you brung and run out with it.... and you can quote that for sure
