Is anyone making a g10 or similar material ferrule/tip combo yet?
I've seen them around but they look to be a homemade concoction.

G-10 glass has been a common tip/ferrule material in use for several years by a multitude of cuemakers.
Because some cue-makers are or have used it doesn't make a good thing.
It's glass. What's not to understand here? I personally don't want glass dust on my cloth. It's harder than phenolic, which is what the balls are made of and will therefore damage them.
I'm curious, just how many CMs in a multitude?

Anyone remember Falcon's jump break shaft ?
All I remember is it was white and it isn't made anymore. It was the tip ferrule combo- anyone remember the material used? It was 160. not ment to hijack, just another material- I have a fillippino jump break-14mm black linen phenolic, Its ambonya burl with ambonya burl joint protectors. Jim Buss bought the remaining 2 in olathe july 07. mark

I have the patent that covers G10 epoxy ferrule/tips. I do not recommend them, the material is harder than the cue ball. My new material is just a shade softer and holds chalk better than any phenolic ever used in break jump cues, and it is a s durable as the G10. I have them for sale to install with a license included or I can install one at my shop (babysproshop). All my break jump cues come with this new material.maxeypad2007 said:

If g10 really is a better playing material I very seriously doubt very many players will care if it damages equipment or not.

A G-10 joint pin is encased in the shaft. The only damage there is the glass chewing the threads in the shaft every time you connect your cue. If you're OK with that then I am too. It's not my shaft.
The G-10 ferrule has a tip btwn. the ferrule and the QB. That shouldn't present any damage to the ball.
I cut a glue relief slot in a G-10 pin the other day. Microscopic glass dust everywhere. I was wearing a cap at the time and it still twinkles. Maybe that's what's in my eyes right now.

I don't believe that a G10 pin would ever damage the threads within the shaft. G10 will polish and the glass fibre burnish resulting in a smooth mate.
I agree that the dust is harmful but not any different than anything we work with. I mean, I'm more concerned with wood dust than glass dust.
