You know it sucks that you have to go to all that effort to keep a tip on a cue. You would think that NASA would have an adhesive they could give to us that would work!
I believe that BCA has banned all composite tips like G10 and Phenolic for this reason. So if you have a player that uses one in that league they are in violation of the rules.
Does G10 make scuff marks on the cue ball??

I put this on a guy's jump cue and it has stayed on so far. I haven't used white diamond tips lately because they do pop off. I used West 205/107 to glue it on.

G -10 one piece is great!!! On jumpers
I think BCA has changed it's ban.
Kim,
That is bad a$$, what an ingenious method.
I have a white dimaond on another break/jump cue that I modified from an old McDermott and I haven't had the first problem with that tip popping off, and it's just put on with loctite gel super glue.
I installed a G10 tip on my team captains break cue about a week ago and so far the darn tip has popped off TWICE !!!
First time I just used loctite gel super glue like I use on all my other tips, that lasted about 4-5 breaks and it popped off.
Second time, I used a complete new tip, and used 5 minute epoxy and let it cure overnight, he used it Thursday night in league play with no problems, then today it popped off on about the 3rd break.
What do I need to do to keep this tip on without popping off ??? Any ideas or suggestions ??
Before you guys start reinventing the wheel, let's start at the top...
How are you prepping the tip and the ferrule face?
You mentioned Loctite, which is good, but how old is the glue?
How are you applying pressure to hold the tip while it cures?
There is a problem in the process, not the material.![]()
I put on about a dozen white diamond tips using every glue available and all of them popped off eventually. Some took 6 months but I just couldn't have that. I love the tip so we'll see if this will keep it on.

Hi Ryan and thanks for chiming in.
I prepped the tip by scuffing it with 150 grit sandpaper until the back side is smooth and then I take a razor blade and cut about 3-4 grooves in the back side for some glue relief. After facing off the ferrule I did the same to the ferrule with a razor blade.
The loctite gel glue I have is BRAND NEW, just taken out my fridge and the G10 tip was actually the first tip done on a newly opened bottle of glue. Prior to that, it had been in my fridge for about 3 weeks.
As far as applying pressure, the shaft is chucked up in the lathe and I use the tailstock to apply pressure, tighten the wing nut and let it sit overnight.
Where in my process am I going wrong ???? I'm all open for suggestions.
I read your post, you said " just taken out my fridge " did you let it warm to room tempature this can take several hours. If not that will effect the bond....OTB
