Gabe Owen Thread Removed? Mod please at least give me your thoughts

She ordered a daily double shot soy milk latte grande.

How would you punctuate the above sentence? Commas? Hyphens? Leave it exactly the way it is?

Answer coming tomorrow morning. :D

This is easy:

"She paid too much for her coffee."

I moderate on another forum and its a pain in the ass at times, but like i tell everyone, and someone in this thread mentioned, its NOT a democracy, its indeed a dictatorship.
And thats the way it should be as long as the mods handle things the right way and i personally think after being here a few months that the mods here give WAY more slack than i would concerning a lot of posts that get out of hand.
I wouldnt tolerate the bashing and stalking that goes on,it does nothing to improve the site and just chases people away who would otherwise put up good informative posts, so who wins ?
The mods make a decision, just respect it and move on. They dont need their balls getting busted with "Why was this deleted or why was that deleted ?"
You dont like the decision, PM them and ask, dont start threads like this one, serves no purpose at all.

Having been a Starbuck's employee, I can only say that you are ordering it incorrectly. There is a very specific method to the ordering process. Most customers get it wrong, but they don't know any better.

This has been a very interesting thread. :grin-square:

The sentence was verbatim from a transcript, which is why the adjectives are not in the correct order. ;)

You are absolutely correct, though, that the order of the adjectives is wrong, technically speaking. The word "grande" should always be *first* so that the Starbucks employee knows which cup to pick up, i.e., grande, tall, or venti. :)

In this regard, "grande" means "large," and so "large" would have a comma inserted before it. Example: She bought a large coffee. [No comma needed.] She bought a coffee, large. See the comma insertion before "large" when used in this manner?

The correct puncutation for words spoken verbatim is, as follows:

She ordered a daily double-shot soy milk latte, grande.

Quiz coming up at noon if this thread is still alive. :p

in Europe most pool rooms have espresso machines, dont get any better than that!!!! you can keep all the milky sweet stuff, i love espresso

Espresso in Germany generaly isn't good. Try Italian once :)
I recommend illy coffee

I have discovered THAT the love of coffee shops can be a regional thing

And if you would of listened to me in the first thread it wouldn't of went so far...but o well i guess you will live and learn. ..tried publicly to get u to go to the source ....but you had to give a smart remark..good job:rolleyes:

Just to end the false speculation

I spoke with Gabe yesterday. He bought gold coins in a plastic sleeve (which you do not remove or it lowers the value as this is a grading package that shows the numismatic value of the coin) and then re-sold them to a coin store.

The coin store then discovered they were fake. The police are looking for the folks who made the coins. They are not after Gabe at all. Gabe is taking legal action against the TV station and the coin store for defamation of character due to those reports.

AZB would very much like to remain out of the courtrrom. If this thread goes back to spouting rumor and conjecture that is false it will go away again.

Oh you are so awesomely smart. Maybe you knew the troubles but were protecting some truths. Good for you Mr. Tattoo.

So what if it went in any direction. So what? It went where it went but not becasue of me. I was only inquiring. Do you think that the father would have said anything true?

Why are people so afraid of the truth?

well yes i am awesome.....JUST ASK ME....

well as you see by the last post by the moderators....inquiring minds should just stay that when it comes to people's personal lives....AND YES BOB HAS ALWAYS BEEN HONEST WITH ME AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD A BAD THING ABOUT HIM....

LOL THE TRUTH ON THE INTERNET....:speechless:

My favorite Starbucks drink is a grande skinny wet cappuccino with one pump of sugar-free vanilla and whipped cream. :D

Well I wasn't implying Bob is not a good guy by any means. I meant would he have told me if I sent him a PM about his son? I don't think so because he doesn't know me and if his som is in trouble he would want to spread that around Im sure.

Well there certainly are truths on the internet. It is just very hard to distinguish it from the non truths.

Never cared for Starbucks, and it costs too much.

Dunkin Donuts, regular, half decaf.

Although I will admit that McDonalds coffee, with Newman's Own, is quite good. And it's only a buck! Gotta love that!

See, you New Englanders love Dunkin' Donuts. I knew it!

I used to love 7-Eleven coffee years ago. I asked them what brand they used, and I proceeded to buy that brand. I made it at home, and it didn't taste the same. :o

So then I brought home a 7-Eleven paper cup, and voila! That was the missing ingredient. Go figure! :p

I'm hooked on Whole Foods Pleasant Morning Buzz right now. It's the best, bar none, that I've ever had. If I don't have my Pleasant Morning Buzz when I wake up, well, the morning just ain't going to be very pleasant, if you know what I mean. ;)

Same thing for me, I can buy Dunkins to brew at home, but it never tastes the same.

Someone told me there is something different in the creamer they use, which could very well be the difference. At least a difference, anyway

Starbucks. Grande unsweetened iced coffee. Black. Take 3x daily for productive work day. Drinking one now.

My daughter does the same thing. She has two or three a day: TRIPLE SHOTS! She's always coming home with a Starbucks cup in her hand.

She works full-time and is also going to school full-time for her master's and claims she needs it to keep her engine going. :p

Looks like a coffee thread to me with the last few posts. I like to drink water myself.

I think Gabe Owens plays good one pocket, I am trying to make this thread pool related. I hope he is doing well and playing pool somewhere today.

I think what distinguishes a good pool room from a singles bar or hole-in-the-wall is the coffee. If a pool room has FRESH coffee brewing, I'm in like Flynn!

The change of subject matter from Gabe to coffee is a deliberate move on my end. I can marry pool up with coffee!
