Gamble with him?

I am not familiar with this player (James Walden). Who would you say is even money with him?

James Walden is an extremely strong realtively unknown player from Oklahoma.

Back when I was playing a lot he was considered one of the best players in the region. Roughly even up with guys like Rafael Martinez.

Haven't heard much from him in years, though.

Looks like it is going to be a great tournament with lotz of action:) . Glad I'll be able to watch.

I'll be playing in the 8-ball tourney. I had hoped to play in both but I am in a military exercise from the 27th thru the 3rd.

Hopefully I won't be the only person representing AZ there that is playing.

See you there Jay. Looking forward to meeting you.

> James Walden is a strong enough player that he was supposed to be going to Guadalajara,Mexico to play Rafael EVEN one-pocket and 9-ball. If you don't play pretty close to Archer's speed, you have no chance, and his one-pocket is pretty close to Cliff, but he's an ultra conservative player,he just grinds you into the ground as opposed to running over you. At a bar table tournament in Memphis, the offer was made for him to spot Bobby Pickle the 7-8,but it didn't happen. If you know Bobby, think about that for a second. James himself said that depending on the size of the bet,he just might have 60-40 the best of it at that game, which is SCARY. Now imagine the speed it's going to take to spot him, which is downright disgusting. Tommy D.

And James Walden is famous for playing in the highest $$$-money match that ever went down at the DCC....That happened 5 years ago, and it was a 2/1/2 day one pocket marathon against Jack Cooney, and the bet including the rail was somewhere's between $50,000 - $75,000.....They stopped for sleeping breaks at 2:00 a.m. and then started up the session again at noon the next day.....I sweated a lot of hours of that session and it was a great sweat.....I'm sure there are some other AZ'ERS here on the forum that were also there.....

Does James want the called 8 and play corey or not.

Perhaps ...

You should talk to James, he negotiates his own matches. Gabe probably knows both players better than anyone. I did talk to James when he was here and ask him if he had ever matched up with Daulton, and James said he was in Daulton country, his backer put him up, and Daulton's backer would not put Shannon up, which is an indication of how strong James plays.

> I remember hearing about it on the phone while it was going on. Someone said James was asked what would happen if the tournament ended before the game was finished, and James said "we'll buy the table, rent the damn building and keep going." He seems like a pretty good guy from what little I've talked to him,and a great player to boot. I've heard stories about his backer too, supposedly he's staked James in matches for up to 100k and never even bothered to show up and watch,he just sent a courier with the money. That not only tells you how much confidence he has in James' game, but his ability and honesty when counting the money. I also heard the story about James and his backer walking into Shannon's home pool room, the one he grew up in and his mom still owns, and actually having the money posted, all to get stood up. Aaron,
When are you going to learn??? It tokk me ahwile to but you have to realize most of these poothsters on here are full of it. They might not even know James Walden or Jesse Bowman, much less be willing or able to bet any substantial number on them. They should ban these discussions because they waste everyones time. The facts are, Corey will ROB them both...but it will never happen...in fact, I will bet make you a friendly wagewr that a substantial bet will never take place between them

You need to check yourself buddy! First of all, you are the clown that didnt know who James Walden was. So how do you know how he plays and his ability. He is a great player, as is Jesse. I am simply stating that Corey will beat them. You are entitled to your opinion. So do yourself a favor, learn a little more about the topics before you choose to run your mouth.

SO, I didn't know who James Walden is. He seems to be a western US player, I did look him up on AZ and it seemed as though he can't best 14 or so in a tourney. How would I know him if he never came around our area? As far as Corey beating Jesse, not in this life time fella, not on a 7' table anyway. Corey is a great player, but not going to beat Jesse on a 7' table in the long haul. Thats it for the mouth part; now for the a$$ part. Lets hook up some time you and I name the price or for free. Not pool, but in the parking lot A HOLE! PM me and we can set it up if you are ever in FL.

Aren't you the "dumb-a$$" that started this thread asking if there was anyone that would gamble with or beat "Jesse The Great"???? Don't get me wrong, Jesse is a great player, there is no doubt about that... But myself, Aaron, and Billychips, ALL THREE OF US, told you and the world WHERE JESSE CAN GET EVEN ACTION!!!!!!!!!!! Canton or Columbus, Ohio... He can play Cory on the bartable and can play Bartram a set even on the bartable and a set even on the 9 footer... Aaron said he'll spread 20 on Cory and Billy will cover the rail... Playing Chris, the window is WIDE OPEN, so just stand on your head and bet whatever falls out!!!! Hopefully they're DEEP pockets too...... Oh while I'm wasting my time responding... If you're such an authority on good players, HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO JAMES WALDEN IS???

OK...I am in Florida right now....if you really wanna do this...740-649-9510...I am in West Palm, but you really need to check yourself and who you are messing with. What I would really like to do, is see you win the lottery, bet on one of your boys...like Jesse or James, and then when you go broke, I will give you a free shot in the parking lot..now come on, the truth is you are probably 5'6 1451bs with little mans syndrome..GOOD LUCK TO YA HOMEBOY!!!

Where's James?

Just talked to him earlier today. He had a little bad luck in Arkansas this week. Someone stole his car with his cue in it. He just got back home to OKC when he called. He is still planning to fly out to Reno on Tuesday. He won a Qualifier in Tulsa so his ticket is paid (plus room plus entry).
Corey and Jesse (and a few others) will both be there, so come on out and make this match happen. I'm sure there'll be some matching up on the Diamond Tables and there is a poolroom right down the street with Gold Crowns.

Clear things up ...

First off, this started off with 'who would ever play Jesse'? I simply stated that I thought James Walden would. I did not say I was putting him up, or that there would be match. It was simply my opinion of who I thought 'could' match up with Jesse. I have played in tournaments with both James and Jesse before (And Jamie and Chad too), and have watched both of them shoot. In fact, Chad Vilmont put me out of a tournament when we were hill-to-hill.

I don't even know how 'Corey' got into this to begin with. Nothing was offered up, simply an opinion of who might play Jesse. If James wants to play Corey, I am sure he will contact him, but frankly, there is a lot of easier money out there to be had. I have not seen Corey play other than on TV.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding regarding this thread.
And anyone intent on matching up with James can get ahold of him in
OKC, he is not hard to find.
