JCIN said:The bottom line is nobody has any money and what money they do have they are holding on to.
Between casino's, on line poker, $4.00 gas, no tournaments and the sh!tty economy in general it is tough to get action. We just spent a week in Vegas with 7200 pool players. You know how many sets over a $1000 we saw that were not planned?
One.
I have seen players too many times woof and woof until someone takes them up on the challenge, and then they have to try to find a backer instead of being able to post. I think we all know how hard it is to get stakehorses to put up any significant money these days. The econony can be blamed, but not entirely.TXsouthpaw said:i wholeheartedly agree with JCIN. the economy is in the toilet and pool players feel it more than most. Traveling includes gas money (which is outragous) and the tourneys arent exactly gonna make u rich either.
So less money+ higher gas and food prices= less gamble.

just curious, but weren't you at the last Viking tournament at Diamonds in Cape Coral, back in March? if you weren't there you have a damn twin!dirtybobjr said:Pardon my ignorance..... but what pool room do you own? In Ft Myers? I'm up in Northwest Fl.....Might make a trip down sometime.
Glad to see you post here Jason and welcome aboard. By the way, great playing last year.Jason R said:I was at Side Pockets this weekend not one person asked me to play.Jason Richko

So the bottom line is, match up locally, and stop whining about things. How would you like to wake up in Baghad ? I'll bet its tough to get a game over there too.
We still live in the greatest country in the world, so lets stop sniveling and get out there and match up !!!!!

You ain't kidding, brudda. The last time there was even a HINT of a money game here is when one banger had been taking some other banger's money, and one of the losers brought me in as a ringer.
I got on the tables, and they were the best tables I had played on in months, and I fell into a groove, and within the next 30 minutes, killed all possibility of action. I didn't mind. Crap, i was happy to shoot on a table that didn't roll off a foot end to end, or put a nick in an object ball struck firmly from the metal backing on the pocket.
(It's a little tuff to hustle bangers when no one is allowed to drink alcohol. General order #1, and all that.)

I know where you are coming from, I couldn't get backed any way. The point I am making is, most of the loud woofing going on is being done by people who don't have a dime of their own money to bet anyway. I really respect the players who are willing to put up their own cash, win or lose.TXsouthpaw said:I dont play unless its on my own dime. if i am getting backed check with the backer before woofing.
