Gambling Lingo Question

I wish someone would make a sticky with all the lingos.

We need more stickies and more useless sub forums. Then eventually everything will be equal.

The parking lot for the place that I worked ended up with more handicap spaces than regular spaces. it was a joke. How can a factory have so many handicapped people working for them? The real ironic part was that the motor cycle spaces were closer and many of the so called handicapped people would ride their bikes to work so they could park closer. One person even requested a handicap motorcycle parking place and the union put in a request for it and it was one of their local demands.

How many stickies would you like? And would you like them served warm or cold?

Hey Jay -- are those the "pot stickies" I keep hearing about? I hear they're delicious!

...oh wait, those are "pot stickers" -- but aren't they the same thing?

:D

This long count spotting is a bit confusing.

Please tell me if I have this correct:

The player with the long count handicap will spot his owed balls after every inning he makes balls UNTIL he owes no more. Ie. He brings the total # down to the natural count - the "natural count" being that which totals 16. So if the game handicap was set at 20-5, the long counter spots his potted balls until he's down to 11 more needed for the W.

Secondly, in event the long count player runs all balls off the table and still needs more, he spots all the balls he needs to win the game and proceeds with his inning.

That's right. At the start of this game, The long count player owes 9 balls. He would spot any made balls at the end of his inning until the owed balls are "paid". In the event the long count player runs all the balls off the table, any balls he owes are then spotted and he continues to shoot.

If the weaker player has a lead of 4-0, and the stronger player runs the last 11 balls, then spots his owed 9, then runs 8 more, the score would be 19-4, with both players needing the last ball. Hope this helps.

brandon is correct....

all you have to do is spot up anything totaling over 16 balls

so if you give me 20 to 5 thats 25 balls total

25-16= 9

so would have to spot your first 10 balls ?????????

EX:
15/8 =7
11/8 = 3
12/7 = 3

Grey Ghost, in your example you would have to spot your first 9 with
a 20-5 spot. Oops !

Never mind the stickies. What we need is for someone to invent a one pocket handicapping slide rule that hustlers can carry in their vest pocket.

Handicapping

You should email Apple and tell them to develop an app for their IPhone, after all they already have 'Break speed' on it.

And why are you guys saying over 16? Last time I counted there are 15 object balls in one pocket.

I think people are just joking with this thread to see how dumb we all are. If you can't figure out a spot in one hole and how to play with it, you deserve to have your money stolen.

What if he really is new to onepocket though or has never played it? If so, he wouldn't know what 13-6 means. Just sayin...
