Gambling updates at this year's Open.

If anyone wants to slam me and call names for my updates, let them go right ahead.

My pic is in my avatar, I am on FB and I stand behind my words.

In my opinion, people should recognize that playing pool in today's Internet-driven world is NOT private.

If they want to gamble in secret then go to each other's basements and tell no one about it.

They wanna gamble at Q-Masters for everyone to see, and they really do want their play and their winnings to be discussed...they know it happens, so complaining about it would be hypocritical, in my opinion.

Will keep providing info to the forums if properly motivated, which changes from moment to moment...:)

I'm still tryin to figure out how you knew I was a Slob ;)

OK, I finally woke up!

Last night (or early this morning) Shane matched up with Keith Bennett.

It was a race to 17 for $1,000.
Keith got the 8-out in 10B.
He won 17-15. They got done around 4:30 AM.

Great pool!

Sounds like Bennett is getting into a lot of action. Thanks again for the updates.

Update: Wednesday night / Thursday morning.

Due to late matches in the arena we did not get to Q-Masters until 2:00 AM.

Place was dead, we rolled out at 3:00 AM.

Oh well, can't expect great action every night!

To me, this seems extremely unusual for the week of the U.S. Open to have Q-Masters dead. I wonder why this is. Are they gambling someplace else? Is nobody gambling? Is everybody waiting for the weekend?

Usually, there's always a little something going on at Q-Masters in the wee hours of the morning.

Well, there were a couple of matches going on, but they were of no interest to me (and I did not know the players) so I did not bother finding out anything about them.

I could speculate that it may have been a dead night due to the timing of tournament play, or maybe people are waiting until later in the week....who knows?

I haven't been to the Open in a few years now, but my experience has always been there was non-stop action, 24/7, at Q-Masters throughout the week, DAY and NIGHT. What a doggone shame for the railbirds.

Maybe when people begin to get knocked out of the tournament, they will go to the pool room to engage in other pool-related activities. IMO, that's part of the lure of the Open is that action at Q-Masters. This does speak well, though, that the tournament contestants are taking the tournament seriously, unlike those who stay up all night gambling and then become a no-show at the tournament or can't perform due to sleep deprivation.

BTW, I still get lost every single time I drive there from the conference center, and I've been there at least a couple dozen times. All those exits going north, south, east, west, it's so easy to make the wrong turn. :D

Perhaps it's time you invested in a GPS....:)

Jason "Mr. Rousey" Klatt playing Lil Tony Watson- 9 ball, nine ahead. Tony started up 3 with two 9 on the breaks, Jason swung it back to +3 Klatt, as of right.....now.

Tony Watson is in the house? Very cool. I love watching him when he's in action.

Hay Inside English, need more US Open Update, please. Thanks.
Tony Watson and Jason Klatt were still playing when we rolled out at 4:30 AM.

I just woke up, so I have no idea as to what happened.

I was also told they were playing for $2,000.

I am hoping there's lots of action tonight.

How was Watson playing? Has he been playing much? Haven't heard his name in awhile.

I would believe that Watson would need just a little tiny bit of weight, maybe last 2,if not n they r playing even, well then i would bet it all on Klatt.

how did lil Tony match turn out?

Tony got the first set. They played even. Tony played strong and jason mighta been off a hair. After the first set they flipped it again. I'm not too sure what the second set was or who won the second one.
